【3D Printing】Bambu Lab Print Profile "MakerWorld" New Standards for Publishing Print Profiles
Bambu Lab's 3D printing platform, MakerWorld, has introduced new standards for print profiles. This move aims to improve the quality of content on the platform.
This change affects all users who share profiles on the platform and is intended to enhance the reliability and quality of 3D printing.

The new standards, effective October 9th, require creators to review and, if necessary, adjust their existing profiles.
MakerWorld is responding to community feedback, aiming to provide users with more consistent and higher-quality print results.

Here are the new print profile standards introduced by MakerWorld:
1. Print Profiles Must Include a Real Image of the Print
When uploading a print profile, MakerWorld requires creators to provide at least one real photo of a model printed using that specific print profile.
The purpose is to demonstrate its printability. This not only gives users more confidence to print it but also makes the print profile more popular.

※Please note that models made with non-FDM 3D printers will be considered invalid for physical photos.
2. Choose a Meaningful Name
Choose a name that reflects the main characteristics of your profile, so others can easily choose among these print profiles.
Examples:
• 4 colors, adjustable supports, 0.16mm layer height
• 4 colors, adjustable supports, 0.16mm layer height
• For A1 mini, 0.24mm layer height, 5mm brim
3. High-Quality Print Profiles
Examples of high-quality print profiles include:
• Custom print profiles with carefully tuned settings and tested results.
• Significant improvements over existing print profiles in terms of print reliability, part orientation, support optimization, and model integrity.
• Careful coloring of models.

4. Separate Versions on Different Plates (Not Mandatory)
If your model has variations, place each variation on a separate plate and name them accordingly.
This will allow users to easily select the desired version.

5. Upload the First Print Profile for a Model
If a model does not have any existing print profiles, upload the first one.
❌ Prohibited Actions
1. Uploading Print Profiles with Obvious Quality Issues
Print profiles with obvious defects, such as missing necessary supports, clear print quality defects in physical photos, or missing essential parts, leading to print failures or inability to assemble correctly.
2. Mismatched 3mf Files, Titles, Descriptions, or Models
Avoid uploading print profiles to incorrect models or submitting 3MF files that do not match their titles or descriptions.
3. Duplicate Uploads of Print Profiles
Avoid re-uploading print profiles, whether your own or someone else's. Minor adjustments to existing print profiles that do not add substantial value will be considered duplicates and removed.
4. Uploading Multiple Print Profiles Compatible with the Same Printer Model
For example, if a print profile already exists for the X1C, there is no need to upload a new profile for the P1S. For printer models like the X1 series/P1 series, one print profile is sufficient.
5. Only Changing Filament or Print Plate Type in New Profiles
This can be considered a duplicate print profile and may be deleted. Uploading profiles with minor changes is not recommended.
6. Unnecessary Duplication of Models
Bambu Handy and Bambu Studio have duplication functions, so there is no need to duplicate models and upload them as new print profiles.
7. Monochrome Versions for Multi-color Models
If a multi-color print profile is already available, there is no need to upload a monochrome profile.
Users can choose to print in a single color using Bambu Handy, which won't create a purge tower, or they can select only one color to print in Bambu Studio, which also avoids the need for a purge tower.
Such uploads will be considered duplicate profiles and will be deleted.
8. Splitting a Model into Multiple Print Profiles for Upload
If a model has multiple parts, putting them into a single print profile prevents users from overlooking any parts during printing. Furthermore, it helps maintain a cleaner and more organized model page.
The allowed exception is if a component of the model has multiple variations; you can upload variations as separate print profiles, but it is recommended to upload variations as separate plates within the print profile and name the plates accordingly.
9. Print Profile Names Must Comply with the Following Naming Convention:
• Prohibited terms: Terms indicating special speed ("fast," "quick," "instant"), comparative advantage ("better," "faster"), guarantees ("guaranteed," "assured"), exclusivity ("exclusive," "privileged"), or official status ("official," "verified") are not allowed.
• Misleading claims: Unsubstantiated, exaggerated, or potentially misleading statements to users are prohibited. This includes claims of "best," "top," "first," "100% success," or "perfect" performance.
• Brand restrictions: Misleading brand-related logos, characters, or terms are strictly prohibited to avoid creating a false impression of affiliation or endorsement.
A comprehensive document on the MakerWorld wiki page summarizes the detailed requirements for print profiles. There, users will find specific technical specifications that must be adhered to when creating and updating profiles.

The platform relies on community cooperation to enforce the new standards. Profiles that do not comply with the updated guidelines after the deadline may be reported and removed. This highlights MakerWorld's emphasis on adhering to these quality standards.
