【3D Printing Application】Pre-Surgical Planning for Tumor Removal, Speeding Up Surgery by 1 Hour!
The biomedical engineering team "Mirai3D" has long been dedicated to integrating 3D printing with virtual simulation technology to develop various non-invasive surgical procedures. The Mirai3D team collaborated with Argentine doctor Gustavo Nari to develop and produce biomedical models using 3D printing's IDEX technology (Independent Dual Extrusion System). This allows for complete pre-surgical planning, improving the success rate of each surgery. Watch the full process here:

.Shorter Surgery Time, Faster Patient Recovery
There was a 65-year-old female patient who needed a liver transplant. However, the patient had a history of ovarian and colon tumor surgeries and congenital thrombocytopenia. Any further surgery required avoiding any possibility of significant bleeding.
The Mirai3D team used dual-color 3D printing to create simulation models of the liver, hepatic blood vessels, and tumor location. Before surgery, the medical team studied various potential problems between the tumor and the liver and understood the vascular structure to obtain the most accurate reference.

Thanks to the assistance of 3D printed models, surgical time was significantly reduced by nearly 1 hour! Shorter surgery time leads to faster patient recovery, and less time under the knife also effectively reduces the risk of unexpected complications and infections.

Did you enjoy this sharing? The more professional the medical team's skills, the safer and less damaging the post-operative results for patients. Combining with 3D printing technology not only saves cost and time but also shortens patient recovery time and increases the medical team's confidence. 3DMART offers more than just 3D printing.
