[3D Printing News] NTUT Industrial Design Showcase: See "Add-Subtract" in New Designs!

【3D Printing News】NTUT Industrial Design Exhibition: New Designs "Adding and Subtracting"!

Although this year's Young Designers' Exhibition was affected by the pandemic and changed to an online exhibition, the design students in Taiwan are still working very hard. After the good news of continuous zero confirmed cases, the Department of Industrial Design at National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT) is still holding an on-campus exhibition! This year, among the works of 12,000 students across Taiwan, NTUT's Industrial Design Department has 19 works nominated and won 23 awards. Many award-winning works, commemorative merchandise, and 3D printing will be showcased!

."Daily-Deli Safe Delivery Kit"
Today, delivery services like Uber Eats and Foodpanda are booming, but they also lead to an increase in delivery motorcycle accidents. Therefore, a safety equipment was designed that combines work convenience and ensures the safety of delivery riders. It projects mobile phone information onto the helmet's visor, eliminating the need for riders to look down at their phones. In case of an accident, an airbag vest with a built-in sensor automatically inflates, protecting vulnerable parts of the body such as the cervical spine and chest. A transparent pocket on the chest can hold a mobile phone, automatically displaying an electronic business card for customers to identify when picking up meals.

."SAVIOUR Modular Swimming Aid"
Drowning is the third leading cause of death globally, and children in impoverished areas have very limited resources for learning to swim. SAVIOUR is a swimming aid that makes good use of discarded plastic bottles. After creating modules with 3D printing, local discarded plastic bottles can be freely combined into different forms such as kickboards and swim rings. This can be used for various swimming lessons and effectively recycles waste. This work also entered the final selection for the "Golden Pin Concept Design Special Award for Circular Design."

.Furniture and Interior Design Group – "Slow Talk"
Sometimes you just want to be alone, sometimes you want to interact with others? "Slow Talk" is a chair with adjustable louvers that can be freely opened and closed, offering both privacy and openness. It is suitable for public spaces such as co-working offices, airports, and shopping malls.

In addition to the exciting works mentioned above, there are also exquisite merchandise created by emerging designers. You can also witness the process of the latest Ultimaker S5 industrial 3D printer producing phone stands on-site. Get free merchandise when you spend over a certain amount!

NTUT has the longest-running Industrial Design Department in Taiwan, and its emerging designers and alumni frequently win international accolades such as the German iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award. This year, the graduating designers' theme is "Adding and Subtracting," striking a balance between aesthetics and practicality. With air conditioning on sunny days and shelter from the rain, come and experience a different design exhibition this weekend!
