【3D Printing News】Announcing the winners of the Ultimaker Education Challenge

Ultimaker supports creative and innovative educators who bravely pioneer new technologies in the classroom.
We are committed to STEAM education and believe that hands-on experience is the most effective way to learn new skills.
This year, we challenged creative and passionate educators to develop a 3D printing lesson plan that helps students learn through hands-on experience.
This competition was open to educators in Asia-Pacific countries and ran from May to October 2017. Educators from around the world responded enthusiastically to this event.

Winners were decided by a distinguished panel of judges with proven experience in the 3D printing industry:

Julia Haried, Co-founder of Maker Girl
Aric Rindfleisch, Executive Director of Illinois MakerLab
Accessibility expert Ruben Brandsma
Marcella van den Burg, Education specialist at Ultimaker

Projects were judged on their presentation, visual appeal, functionality, ease of implementation, originality, and their contribution to the potential of 3D printing.

The Ultimaker Pioneer Program

Our Pioneer Program celebrates our love of education – helping educators across the world discover the true potential of 3D printing by sharing their knowledge with others.
It is a great way to be inspired and to inspire others at the same time, while adding value to the existing curriculum.
Pioneers can share lessons, tutorials, blog posts and articles based on their teaching experience, whilst still retaining Creative Commons licensing of their content. Ultimaker supports all pioneers by showcasing their work, creating networking opportunities, and providing useful materials on educational 3D printing.
We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the challenge. If you’d like to find out about future competitions, be sure to follow our Ultimaker Pioneer Program for news and updates.
