[3D Printing] A Look Inside BCN3D's 3D Printed Mold Production Line!

[3D Printing] A peek inside BCN3D's 3D printer production line!
This sharing delves into the internal operations of the BCN3D production line located in Gavà, Barcelona, presented by Arnau Garcia, Chief FFF Engineer. Local production helps control product quality, ensuring every product meets standards.

Reasons for Choosing Local Production
Since 2014, we have maintained key production line technologies in-house. BCN3D believes that through local production and extending core technologies, they have complete control over quality standards, ensuring every product meets quality benchmarks. Furthermore, close collaboration allows engineers to innovate and address issues. Through engineer innovation, BCN3D's 3D printing tools are designed to adhere to specific requirements. Another benefit of local production is the reduced carbon footprint, eliminating intermediary communication, saving costs, and simplifying the transportation process.

3D Printing Tools Make the World Better
Let's take a look at some parts found on BCN3D's production line.

First, there's a structure used for testing, which is a crucial step in the quality control process. This structure, mostly 3D printed, is used to verify the X-axis displacement signal transmission. This is a valuable component for automatic calibration. The sensor detects changes in pressure between the hotend and the X-axis, and its movement can be controlled by a computer.

BCN3D also internally tests this structure, this time for the BCN3D Smart Cabinet. It first mimics the dehumidification process inside the product, heating the air ducts via circuitry, and online software monitors to check if the heat can effectively reduce moisture. The structure includes 3D printed parts, as seen here in blue and black, used to connect components to the plastic base plate below, providing good support.

This is one of many fixture clamps, which are inserted in various places to ensure consistency and high quality of the produced parts. This particular one, entirely 3D printed, is used to check the perpendicularity between the Z-axis and Y-axis of the 3D printer.

Through this visit to the BCN3D local factory, this sharing hopes to provide you with a better understanding of how BCN3D achieves local production to maintain high-quality products, self-production and sales, and sustainable development principles.
