In the dessert world, the most common application of vacuum forming involves first thermoforming shaped objects, then demolding to create food molds, and finally pouring various ingredients to easily design customized and versatile desserts!
 

Matt Adlard, a self-taught British pastry and dessert designer, researches various innovative techniques for making pastries, hoping to make baking more accessible! He therefore founded the "Bake it Better" teaching platform, dedicated to creating a relaxed learning environment that allows more dessert enthusiasts to unleash their creativity while also learning new technical knowledge.
 

Matt designed a chocolate treasure chest cake, which primarily features a key and lock-shaped appearance. To complete the cake body's filling, you can use laser cutting technology. After measuring the cake size, design the desired lock shape in the computer, then use a laser cutter to cut transparent material sheets according to the designed path to create the lock template for the cake. This way, you can achieve the same effect as Matt's creation.

Spread a layer of chocolate ganache on the template, and after it solidifies, remove it, and a customized shaped lock is complete! The editor, seeing this, thought of another extended application: using the same method, you can also create various shaped cake dusting stencils according to your preference. Sprinkle with chocolate, matcha, or brown sugar powder to decorate your creative desserts as you wish.
 
 

Finally, Matt placed the key into the FormBox vacuum forming machine, paired with vacuum forming material sheets, and pressed for 3 seconds to mold the object's shape. Using the resulting key mold after demolding, he poured in chocolate ganache to complete the final part of the cake.
