【3D Printing News】Enjoy the Moon Festival Together: 3D Print Your Own Mooncakes

Would you ever think of using 3D printing to make mooncake molds? You no longer have to be limited to mooncakes available on the market; you can create your very own custom mooncakes. Come and see our exclusive 3DMART mooncakes~~~
The Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner. On this day, everyone gathers to barbecue, eat pomelos, and enjoy mooncakes.
Every year, mooncakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival are constantly innovated with various flavors to choose from. But if you can make your own mooncakes, you can create even more unique flavors and shapes to your liking.
So this year, 3DMART decided to make its own mooncakes. Of course, the flavor had to be special. Guess what flavor we made?

3D Printing Mooncake Production Process

First, we printed our designed 3DMART bear-shaped 3D file using an Ultimaker 3D printer. The bear head popping out from the middle of the mooncake is the bear from our logo, with text added next to it to make the mooncake more cohesive.

Place the mooncake mold into the alcohol polishing machine for a while to make the surface smoother. Once the model is completely dry, you can make the silicone mold!

The left is the unpolished 3D printed model, and the right is the alcohol-polished 3D printed model.

For silicone mold making, please refer to our previous Spider-Man head candle article; we won't explain it in detail here. This time, we used small paper cups to assist in the process. (Reminder: The silicone used here must be food-grade!)

Next up is chef's cooking time! Everyone can choose their favorite filling. We love chocolate, so we chose chocolate for everything. The outer layer is dark chocolate, and the filling is mint chocolate chip ice cream – a very innovative mooncake flavor, almost more like a cake?!

Looks delicious, doesn't it! It tastes absolutely delightful too~~~ We thoroughly enjoyed them. They were all eaten up immediately after the photos were taken. Were we that hungry??
