【3D Printing News】Ultimaker Material Alliance Program: Diverse New Choices.
Ultimaker, the leading brand for 3D printers, recently announced at Hannover Messe that its Material Alliance Program, launched in April last year, has already impacted over 80 companies worldwide. The program aims to develop materials for FFF 3D printing to meet the increasing demand for industrial-grade 3D printing materials.

One year after Ultimaker launched the program, well-known material companies, including BASF, DSM, DuPont, Owens Corning, Arkema, Jabil, and Lehmann&Voss&Co., have actively participated in Ultimaker's collaborative initiative to introduce various FFF 3D printing filaments to the professional market more quickly.

Ultimaker's open material strategy allows for printing applications with different materials possessing specific properties, such as heat resistance, impact resistance, chemical resistance, flexibility, and strength. These characteristics are crucial factors for engineers when selecting materials, and the corresponding parameter configurations can be downloaded from the Ultimaker Cloud Marketplace.
"In just one year since its launch, the Ultimaker Material Alliance Program has attracted attention from all sectors and has collaborated with global suppliers to develop new applications," said Paul Heiden, Vice President of Product Management at Ultimaker. For example, professional users can now choose to print with metal-filled filaments, producing an appearance or texture similar to SLM metal printing. Through sanding or polishing, a metallic luster can be achieved, offering benefits such as similar weight and affordable cost.

Another achievement of the program is that users can choose electrostatic discharge (ESD) filaments, making it more convenient for engineers and designers in the electronics industry to utilize 3D printing technology for production development.
