[3D Printing News] Highlights from the SolidEdge Reverse Engineering Seminar

【3D Printing News】SolidEdge Reverse Engineering Seminar Highlights

Last Friday (6/15), we hosted a very enriching knowledge feast for our customers. 3DMART specially invited two instructors:
Ms. Cheng Ting-wen from Cadcam Technology, an authorized Siemens distributor, and Mr. Hsu Ting-yu from Shining 3D.
They clarified the usage and application of 3D scanners and the operation of the SolidEdge 3D reverse engineering software.

Simple SolidEdge gifts (notebooks and pens) were available at the entrance. After signing in, customers could take their seats and await the exciting seminar content!!!

The seminar began with a 3DMart sales representative introducing all current 3D printing technologies and all 3D printers present at the venue, showcasing some 3D printed samples for reference. We also introduced our latest SLS powder sintering 3D printer, Lisa.

Next, an instructor from Cadcam Technology introduced the current application scope of 3D software, the advantages of Siemens SolidEdge software, and the importance of integrating 3D software with Industry 4.0.

They also briefly outlined the powerful modeling capabilities of SolidEdge software.

The first half of the seminar concluded here, followed by a break for lunch, during which everyone happily socialized.

The second half of the seminar focused on the most critical aspects: the usage of 3D scanners and live demonstrations of reverse engineering software. First, the instructor from Shining 3D introduced the current applications of 3D scanning technology and different types of 3D scanners.

Afterwards, they demonstrated scanning a car bumper with a handheld 3D scanner. We also previously made a video of scanning a car bumper; interested friends can refer to this article.

After a brief demonstration of scanning large objects, a fixed-mode scan was performed. The 3D scanner was mounted on a tripod, and the object to be scanned was placed on a turntable. In just a few minutes, the scanner completed a full scan of the object.

Not only did they demonstrate the actual operation of the 3D scanner, but they also shared some tips for saving files, ensuring they are not too large while maintaining accuracy.

Following this, the instructor from Cadcam Technology, the SolidEdge distributor, briefly taught the operation of the software.

They then used the recently 3D-scanned file to perform reverse engineering with the software, making the 3D model more complete and ready for 3D printing.

Finally, colleagues from 3DMart also supplemented information on other applications of 3D printing technology.

After the seminar, many customers stayed to interact with the instructors, and everyone felt they had gained a lot.

And of course, a group photo to conclude! So many people attended this seminar, it was truly lively!!!

We will continue to hold similar events in the future to help everyone better understand 3D printing and 3D scanning technology. Please stay tuned!!!
