Challenge: Manufacturing final parts and prototypes for 4x4 vehicles
IMES 3D has extensive experience in developing 3D printing solutions for its customers. Since its founding in 2013, they have recognized the potential of this technology for multiple industries, especially the automotive sector. To this end, they use technologies such as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) or Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) to meet the needs of companies like SoloWrangler, which specializes in producing this type of Jeep.
With a technical team of 9 people and their large IMES 3D printer farm, they are able to tackle various challenges, such as creating customized parts and making them durable enough for these 4x4 vehicles.

IMES 3D CEO David's Solution: UltiMaker S7 3D Printer and PC-ABS FR Filament
To obtain parts capable of withstanding the impact of a Jeep Wrangler, IMES 3D uses the most reliable UltiMaker S7 3D printer in the series, manufacturing parts with PC-ABS FR flame-retardant 3D printing filament. One of the advantages IMES 3D found in the S7 is its flexible print bed, which allows for faster removal of complex parts, as well as better automatic leveling.

Following the advice of Sicnova and its distributors, IMES 3D expanded its printer farm, capable of manufacturing over 2 million parts and 2,000 tools within three years. By combining the S7 with filament, IMES 3D has manufactured parking sensors, custom fenders, and impact-resistant and fire-retardant wheel centering devices for its customers.
Result: Parts in Two Weeks and 76% Savings on Hundreds of Products
Thanks to this technology, IMES 3D can provide customers with durable parts and more competitive prices. Manufacturing a sensor cover for a 4x4 car in CNC would cost 148 euros, but in 3D, it can be achieved for just 36 euros. Additionally, the IMES 3D team designed the product in a few hours, validated it in two days, and was able to manufacture hundreds of units in two weeks.
David Mestres, Executive Director of IMES 3D, said, "3D printing is not just for prototyping: we develop production processes with optimal quality and geometry without generating a large amount of waste."
