【3D Printing Application】Titanium Alloy Direct Printing, "Golden Flower Tiger Lord" Is Born!

"Tiger Lord" (Huye) is a deity in Taiwanese folk beliefs, appearing in the form of a tiger. Originally the mounts of various deities such as mountain gods, earth gods, city gods, and Mazu, they are now the most representative guardians for children and merchants.
Starting in 2020, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, plunging all sectors into a slump. Taiwanese local artist Fang Chih-Wei created the artwork "Golden Flower Tiger Lord: The Keeper" using the image of Tiger Lord with media such as Nihonga (膠彩) and silk. He hoped to bring warm positive energy to people, soothe hearts, and bring good fortune.
We are very honored that 3DMart collaborated with designer Fang Chih-Wei. Through 3D printing and 3D scanning technologies, we will transform this auspicious object, embodying "fortune, prosperity, and longevity," into a physical metal model!
First, the initial shape of the Tiger Lord was sculpted, and then a 3D scanner was used to convert the model into a 3D digital file. Next, SLA/DLP 3D printing technology was used for rapid and cost-effective testing of various product effects.
After the preliminary preparations were complete, metal 3D printing technology and titanium alloy material were used to complete the final model of the Tiger Lord. Following the painting process for metal, and according to designer Fang Chih-Wei's original two-dimensional artwork, the colors were applied sequentially to this metal Tiger Lord. It's like it walked right out of the painting!
After six months of conceptualization and production, the titanium alloy "Golden Flower Tiger Lord: The Keeper" was freshly born. It successfully debuted at the "2020 Taiwan International 3D Exhibition" held in August this year (click here to see the exhibition review) as scheduled, and is continuously being promoted worldwide through Tangwan Art Center!
The shape of the Tiger Lord's ears resembles an endless flame, and within the flame is the character "壽" (shòu), symbolizing longevity. We wish everyone to overcome the pandemic and remain safe and healthy.
