[3D Printing Materials] Choose the right material to solve your ABS warping problem!

Has your ABS 3D printing material warped again? This is likely a common issue for almost all users who print with ABS on a 3D printer! To make things easier for everyone, today we're going to share some tips to help resolve ABS warping!

Here are the methods:
1. Brim.
The first point is a setting in the slicing software: enable the Brim function. A brim refers to an additional perimeter printed around the edges where the object touches the heated bed. This increases the contact area between the object's base and the print platform, strengthening the adhesion between the model and the heated bed. After printing, it can be trimmed off.

2. Raft.
The second point is also a setting in the slicing software: enable the Raft function. A raft refers to printing an additional flat base (a few layers) underneath the object, with an area larger than the original bottom surface. This increases the contact area between the object's base and the print platform, strengthening the adhesion between the model and the heated bed.

P.S. The above two methods are the simplest, as they only require a few clicks of the mouse, and the software handles the rest of the calculations! However, whether it's a Brim or a Raft, the additional printed material is still ABS, so warping can still occur. Therefore, these methods cannot guarantee a 100% solution to the warping problem.

3. BuildTak 3D Printing Build Surface
The BuildTak 3D printing build surface is a print bed adhesive specifically designed for FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) 3D printers. It allows objects printed with filaments like ABS, PLA, HIPS, PET+, and PC to adhere to it without easily warping; you can also apply a thin layer of glue stick to make nylon and t-glase (PETT) filaments adhere to it. It is easier to apply than regular blue tape, less prone to air bubbles, and can be reused continuously. It also protects the print bed, and printed objects are easy to remove once complete.
