[3D Printing Software] Ultimaker Cloud Tutorial: Share with Ease Anytime!

【3D Printing Software】Ultimaker Cloud Tutorial: Easy Sharing Anytime!

Ultimaker Cloud offers cloud sharing functionality, effectively streamlining your 3D printing workflow. Before using Ultimaker Cloud, you simply need to register an Ultimaker account:

I.Basic Interface
II.Connection Methods
III.Using the Marketplace

(Registration website: mycloud.ultimaker.com)

1. "Printers":
Connect your Ultimaker 3D printers. This section displays a record of printers previously paired with your Ultimaker account. You can share any Ultimaker 3D printer using the "Team" function.

(Select the Ultimaker 3D printer you want to connect.)

Before adding an Ultimaker 3D printer group, ensure the device is powered on, connected to the internet, and the IP address is entered to begin the connection.

2. "Teams":
Manage your Ultimaker 3D printers. After creating a team, you can invite other users with Ultimaker accounts to join. The Teams interface will display all team members.

The first time you connect your Ultimaker 3D printer to Ultimaker Cloud, you must use Wi-Fi or a network connection; the firmware for Ultimaker S5 or Ultimaker 3 3D printers needs to be updated to 5.2.8 or higher, and Ultimaker Cura needs to be updated to 4.0 or higher.

1. Add your network-connected Ultimaker 3D printer to Ultimaker Cura.
2. Log in to Ultimaker Cura using your Ultimaker account.
3. Pair the 3D printer with your Ultimaker account using Ultimaker Cura or Ultimaker Connect.

(Method 1) Using Ultimaker Cura

(After adding an Ultimaker 3D printer in Ultimaker Cura, a blue checkmark will appear in the menu.)

Log in to your Ultimaker account in the top right corner of Ultimaker Cura (you can also create a new account here if you don't have one).

Ultimaker Cura will automatically detect the Ultimaker 3D printer in the cloud, and a notification window will appear in the interface. Select "Get Start" to begin connecting to Ultimaker Cloud.

(Method 2) Using Ultimaker Connect

1. Enter Ultimaker Cura's Monitor mode and connect using Ultimaker Connect.
2. Click on "Go to Ultimaker Connect."
3. Click on the gear icon in the menu to access Ultimaker Connect's option settings.
4. Click "Connect" to link with Ultimaker Cloud.

1. Log in with your Ultimaker account.
2. Click "Allow" to grant Ultimaker Connect and Ultimaker Cloud permission to read and exchange data within the interface.
3. Enter the security verification PIN displayed on your Ultimaker 3D printer's touchscreen.
4. Open Ultimaker Cura to establish the connection.

After confirming a successful connection, Ultimaker Cura will display a notification, allowing you to start remotely monitoring and setting up 3D printing jobs.

(*When using Ultimaker Cloud, all data is strictly confidential. Data will only be shared with Ultimaker or other users and used to provide other functions (e.g., remote print monitoring) after the user has given consent via OAuth 2.0. All data is encrypted during transmission, storage, and sharing.)

In the Ultimaker Marketplace, you can find additional features for Ultimaker Cura, including "Plugins" for CAD software and "Materials" settings for use with Ultimaker 3D printers.

1. "Plugins"
.Featured Plugins: These can be used with various software applications, such as Solidworks or Siemens NX design software.
.Community-developed Plugins: This category includes programs developed by Ultimaker account users.

(Siemens NX Integration)

2. "Materials" Settings
The "Materials" third-party material browsing category is divided into three parts:

.Featured Materials: This category consists of materials from the Ultimaker Material Alliance.
.Community-developed Materials: This category includes materials developed by Ultimaker account users.
.Generic Materials: This category consists of generic material configurations developed by Ultimaker, installed by default (and can be used as a basis for developing new material configurations).

Click on "Marketplace" in the top right corner of the Ultimaker Cura interface, select the desired "Plugins" or "Materials" settings, and install them. After restarting Ultimaker Cura, they will be ready for use.
