【3D Printing News】Cura 4.4 Officially Released! A Savior for the Lazy – No Parameter Settings Needed!
Ultimaker Cura 4.4 has been officially released! The "Intent Profiles" slider, previously mentioned in the beta version, is now officially available! The tutorial video is super simple; let's take a sneak peek:
Mechanical parts made with 3D printing require good dimensional accuracy and tighter tolerances, while visual prototypes need clear details and smooth surfaces. Different combinations of values can produce different printing results. Ultimaker has developed a new method to achieve these goals quickly and easily. Cura 4.4 official version has undergone some fine-tuning based on user feedback, with three main items emphasizing different professional applications:
1. Visual: For visual models with high-quality shapes and surfaces, suitable for design, proposals, and other appearance-focused applications.
2. Engineering: Enhances the high-precision requirements and reduces tolerances for 3D printing.
3. Draft: Achieves preliminary prototypes or validates concept feasibility by shortening 3D printing time.
When adjusting the "Intent Profiles" slider, you can see that other parameter values change automatically, eliminating the need for users to spend time modifying each setting individually. This allows everyone in the office to use a 3D printer with ease, even without an engineering background, to print high-precision dimensional products.

With less time spent on setting parameters, the time saved is even more significant when printing with dual nozzles using PLA, Tough PLA, ABS, and support materials (such as PVA and Breakaway). All of these are perfectly compatible with the Ultimaker S5 Pro Bundle, Ultimaker S5, and Ultimaker S3.
What else is new in this version? In addition to the "Intent Profiles" feature, the new Cura 4.4 also includes UX improvements and bug fixes, providing users with a better experience:
. Per-model settings: Applying slicing settings to specific parts of a model is now easier with a dedicated icon in the toolbar.
. Improved performance: Pop-up windows are now smoother, making the interface more flexible and operations faster.
. Pause and resume print: This feature instructs the user to perform other operations during a pause, such as inserting a bearing into a slot and then resuming 3D printing.
. Restore window option: Restores the previous window position and size to the last used state upon launch.
