[3D Printing Application] Cura 4.8, the latest version: A summary of its three major features!
With the exciting launch of the Ultimaker 2+ Connect 3D printer (click here to see the new printer introduction), Cura has also been updated to the latest 4.8 version! It offers efficient slicing settings and stable print quality. Plus, you can connect every Ultimaker 3D printer through WiFi and network connections to the Ultimaker Digital Factory. These three new features make operations incredibly convenient with just one click. A free download link is provided at the end of the article:
- One-click arrangement, no manual adjustment needed

With the updated version, you no longer need to adjust manually. Simply right-click on the 3D object, select "Multiply Selected Model," and enter the print quantity. The system will automatically arrange each model's position, saving production time for users with small-batch production needs and improving overall efficiency!
- Non-printable area visualization
In Cura 4.8, when a printed object is below the build plate, it will appear gray to clearly distinguish it from the model's actual color. This allows you to clearly see the portion of the object that will actually be printed during adjustment. The distinct color difference reduces the possibility of setting errors and improves printing stability.
- Consistent parameters, flexible machine switching
When using older versions of Cura, you first had to select the Ultimaker 3D printer model to be used and then proceed with all nozzle and parameter settings, saving it as a project file afterward. If you wanted to change to a different 3D printer model (for example, if the original project settings were for an Ultimaker S3, but you wanted to print the same project file content on an S5), you would need to redo all settings, which was very time-consuming! Now, when you import a project, a prompt window will appear, allowing you to directly select and change the 3D printer model while retaining the same parameter settings. Users can now switch between different printer models more freely and flexibly for 3D printing.
Furthermore, you can now use the Ultimaker Digital Factory to connect and schedule every Ultimaker 3D printer, combining all the functions of Ultimaker Connect and Ultimaker Cloud. No matter where you are, you can easily and quickly remotely monitor projects and manage the operational status of each 3D printer.

In the Ultimaker Digital Factory, you can easily duplicate and reorder print jobs, and even rename your 3D printer online. When connecting a new Ultimaker 3D printer, simply select "Connect" on the device's touchscreen and enter the code from the Ultimaker Digital Factory to establish a remote connection!
