LP5 Installation
Installing the LP5 is relatively simple. First, secure the electric stand to the base plate using the provided screws.
Next, mount the LP5 unit itself onto the stand.
You'll then need to install the protective cover; in some cases, you might need to turn on the laser and raise it to create space.
Once set up, connect the fan cable to the back of the laser engraver using one of the provided cables to link the laser to the electric stand.

– Safety keys. Finally, insert one of the USB safety keys to enable the laser.
LaserPecker devices come with two keys in case one is lost, so be sure to keep them in a safe place.
Installing the Slide Rail Extension Kit and Rotary Axis Attachment
For the slide rail extension kit, attach the two cutting mats to the base unit.
Once ready, place the extension kit and connect it to the back of the laser machine using the included USB cable.

For the rotary axis attachment, secure the rotary unit to the base plate using the provided screws.
Depending on your project, install the jaw or stud pieces, then slide the tailstock support into the track. Once secured, you're ready to go.

LP5 Connectivity
Overall, the LP5 setup is very simple and quick.
You can connect the device to a PC via a USB cable or set up WiFi using a mobile app.
With a WiFi connection, you can wirelessly connect the LP5 to your device.
Additionally, for embossing projects, it's best to use USB mode because files are larger and difficult to transfer via WiFi, potentially causing problems during the process.
LP5 Hardware Design
The LP5 follows the sleek style of previous LaserPecker designs, maintaining an aesthetic and concise appearance but with a larger footprint.
Despite being slightly heavier, the LP5 remains portable and stands out with its inclusion of both a 20W diode laser and a fiber laser.

Accessory Kit
The accessory kit includes several very useful accessories, such as a slide rail extension kit for processing larger workpieces and a rotary axis attachment with tilting capabilities, making it easier to engrave hard-to-reach areas.
A base plate for cutting operations is also included, and it is recommended to use it to prevent leaving marks or damaging the base of the LP5.
Protective Cover, Fan, and Cooling
The LP5 features a safe protective cover and a powerful exhaust fan, including a retractable hose.
You can connect it to an external ventilation system or vent it out a window.
The fan effectively removes dust or debris generated during embossing or engraving.

Due to the fiber laser requiring strict cooling, the LP5 is relatively loud when operating.
While many companies opt for liquid cooling systems, LaserPecker has cleverly designed a more stable and portable solution with a large heatsink cooled by a powerful fan.
Despite some noise during operation, this cooling is very beneficial for the laser, maintaining its temperature during long engraving or embossing processes.

LaserPecker Design Space (LDS)
LaserPecker offers its own software, LaserPecker Design Space (LDS), available for PC, Android, iOS, and macOS.
The PC version is the most practical and easy to use, offering more functionality than some mobile apps, which can sometimes lack certain features. Therefore, the PC version is recommended.

If you are using the LaserPecker LP5 for the first time, you will need to connect it via USB and click "Connect."
Once connected, navigate to device settings to configure WiFi, which will enable wireless operation.
LDS includes everything needed for cutting, engraving, and embossing, with a simple layout that places all settings on the right side of the screen, providing a large workspace.

Various Material Processing
Brass Coin Embossing
Set power to 100%, depth to 30%, frequency to 26%, and layer height to 0.01 mm. Each coin took less than 5 hours to produce.
Post-processing after embossing involved a cleaning cycle with settings adjusted to 50% power and 4% depth. This helped remove some residue.

Brass Pendant Engraving
Using the fiber laser, set resolution to 8K, frequency to 26, power to 50%, and depth to 35%.
The engraving process took less than five minutes, resulting in a stunning piece with a unique and eye-catching design.

Slate Engraving
Set laser frequency to 26, power to 40%, depth to 30%, and resolution to 8K, using the fiber laser.
The smaller slate took approximately 40 minutes, while the larger one took over 5 hours to complete.

Basswood Engraving
Engraved a logo on a wooden keychain using the diode laser at 50% power and 25% depth.
The logo was engraved at 1K, taking approximately 4 minutes, and the finished product was excellent, clear, and sharp.

LP5 Settings
Compared to most lasers on the market, the LP5 uses slightly different settings.
For diode lasers, key settings include Power, Passes, and Depth.
Increasing the depth will slow down the operation, while decreasing it will speed it up.
For fiber lasers, you need to adjust settings like Laser Frequency, Passes, Power, and Depth.
Depending on the material you are engraving, you might also need to set the duration, which determines how long the laser stays at each point (in milliseconds).
Higher duration values generally correspond to slower engraving speeds.
A very useful section on the official LaserPecker website provides material settings for all LaserPecker machines. It is worthwhile to research materials and settings before planning a project.
All images used for testing can be found on Laser-pics.com; there are many free images perfectly suited for laser engraving.
