【3D Printing Applications】Optical Equipment Customization: How a Major Electrochemical Manufacturer Does It!
GiT Gingen Technology specializes in electrochemical measurement systems and has extensive industry-academia experience in customizing battery measurement systems, optical microscopic imaging, electrochemical reactors, mechanical pressure devices, and other equipment. In recent years, they have been experimenting with 3D printing and 3D scanning technology, using 3D printed models to simulate and validate ideas, quickly meeting different testing needs, and improving R&D efficiency (Click here to see: "ZEISS Lens" Optical Manufacturing's 3 Secrets!). We are honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with GiT Gingen Technology and participate in the TV program "Beauty in Taiwan." Watch the full interview now:
Before the development of 3D printing technology, custom plastic and metal molds and parts required cutting and mechanical processing using CNC and traditional milling machines. Now, by integrating 3D printing technology into the manufacturing process, customers can use 3D printed physical models for on-site verification during the product proposal stage. This allows them to accurately determine the applicability and feasibility of the product, while also shortening the development, testing, and improvement time for customized products.

The Product Design Manager from GiT Gingen Technology personally brought various electrochemical samples to 3DMart! We used the Shining Einscan Pro HD turntable fixed mode to 3D scan the samples. During scanning, the turntable automatically rotates 360 degrees, and in just 3 minutes, it can capture every angle of the object. This high-speed scanning maintains detail accuracy, and with the dedicated 3D scanning software, real-time preview and display of the scanning results are possible.

"By integrating 3D printers into the production line, product designers don't need to be experts in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). They can directly use dedicated 3D printing software for model slicing to complete prototype production. For product development with small quantities and high customization requirements, this is extremely helpful for controlling both human and material costs!" said Chen Hong-Ming, Product Design Manager at GiT Gingen Technology.
Using the Ultimaker S5 3D printer, samples are produced on-site. Whether it's printing high-precision helical parts, assemblies, or grooved structures (Click here to see: 8 types of technical samples, characteristics at a glance!), businesses can quickly create preliminary sample structures and test idea feasibility before mass production, saving significant cost and resources!
