【3D Scanning News】Portable Revopoint MINI: Precision Evolved, the King of Reverse Engineering is Here!
3D scanner manufacturer Revopoint has launched its latest 3D scanning system, supporting higher precision scanning, smoother operation, better color effects, with options for infrared scanning with non-irritating light sources or industrial-grade blue light, high file format compatibility, as well as automatic alignment and custom editing functions, all in a lightweight, portable design with easy connectivity.
Not everyone needs a 3D scanner capable of capturing large objects like cars or giant artifacts. Some users simply need to quickly scan small objects with intricate details. The Revopoint MINI is designed for the latter, saving space, and is the company's first machine based on structured blue light technology. This full-color scanner aims to combine performance and affordability, ensuring that anyone and everyone can capture the finest feature details in their 3D scanning projects.
Compared to Revopoint's flagship POP 2 scanner, the new MINI has a smaller capture range and higher scanning accuracy, at just 0.02mm. This makes it suitable for various small part scanning applications with strict precision requirements, including reverse engineering, dental modeling, jewelry, industrial quality control, and 3D printing.

Revopoint MINI: Lighter, Smaller, Easy and Convenient to Operate
The Revopoint MINI is renowned for its ease of use and simplicity. Weighing only 160 grams, it is designed to be as portable as possible, and can be used in handheld mode for larger parts and tripod mode for smaller parts, with a 360° turntable included for easier flat scanning.
Unlike many scanning systems that use laser technology, the MINI does not require any positioning targets. The blue light technology powering the machine is also designed to be insensitive to ambient light, allowing it to capture excellent detail even in well-lit environments. Thanks to its full-color capabilities, the system can easily and accurately recreate the color and texture of scanned parts. However, like any scanner on the market, matte scanning spray is still needed when dealing with transparent, highly reflective, or jet-black surfaces.
The MINI can scan small objects down to 10 x 10 x 10 mm, as well as larger objects up to 500 x 500 x 500 mm. The system is equipped with a dual-camera setup, a dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, and a scanning speed of 10fps. Revopoint states that the machine utilizes a new 3D scanning algorithm that allows for a smoother 3D scanning experience with minimal surface stitching errors.

New Software Offers Higher Fineness and Captures More Details
Since the MINI is compatible with many leading third-party engineering and design software today, it can send fully scanned 3D scan files (in STL, OBJ, or PLY) directly to any smart device for additional post-processing. Those who prefer not to use the MicroUSB cable included with the scanner can choose to transfer data via Wi-Fi for greater freedom of use.
Users can also use Revopoint's proprietary software: Revo Scan for 3D scanning operations, Revo Studio for 3D model editing, and Revo Calibration for recalibrating the 3D scanner and resetting to factory settings. These software programs support various functions, allowing for more diverse uses.
