3DMart wishes everyone a Happy New Year and a "pig"-turesque year ahead! To express our blessings, we've naturally prepared some festive New Year items. 3DMart welcomes the new year with everyone!
We used both the Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker S5 to print this series of pig friends. We used PLA, with a layer thickness setting of an ultra-fine 0.1mm, resulting in a printing time of about 3 hours. The pigs printed in the extra-large Ultimaker S5 all turned out to be mini-pigs.
In addition, the contact surface of prints from general 3D printers is usually flatter and sharper. However, because both the Ultimaker 3 and Ultimaker S5 have dual nozzle systems, using PVA water-soluble support at the very bottom allows for a more perfect edge where the print contacts the platform.
We printed many different colors this time, ensuring that colleagues at both the Taipei headquarters and Taichung branch received one. Placed together, they signify a "pig"-turesque year, bringing you good fortune all year long!
We also tried multi-colored pigs. Although dual nozzles are typically used for dual-color or dual-material 3D printing, by estimating the number of colors and changing the filament mid-print, multi-colored prints can also be produced.
The multi-colored pigs stand out wonderfully when placed with the others. We also took close-up shots to show everyone the results of high-precision printing. The texture of high-precision prints is very satisfying to the touch.
