[Christmas Special] Do you want to build a snowman? Chocolate "Olaf" teaches you how!

【Christmas Special】Do You Want to Build a Snowman? Chocolate "Olaf" Teaches You How!

3DMart wishes everyone a Merry Christmas! This year, let the cutest and funniest chocolate "Olaf" from "Frozen 2" accompany you through Christmas. Using the FormBox vacuum forming machine, you can make it super fast and easy without silicone molds, perfect for kids and adults to enjoy together!

First, we modified Olaf's open-source file. In Ultimaker Cura, you can see that this Olaf does not have branch arms, a nose, or hair. These will be drawn on after the chocolate body is completed.

This time, we used white Tough PLA and an Ultimaker 3D printer. The finished Olaf model was then placed into the FormBox vacuum forming machine. If you don't have a 3D printer, you can also hand-mold it with clay. For someone like me, who isn't very good with their hands, a 3D printer is more suitable. Our store also offers special bundles with a FormBox + 3D printer!

For professional food applications, 3D printing often uses silicone to create custom mass production molds (further reading: "Perfect" Molds: Dinara Kasko, Tech-Savvy Pastry Artist). A faster way is to directly create them using a vacuum forming machine; with a single press, the mold is finished in seconds and can be demolded immediately without waiting, making it convenient and fast.

After the preliminary work is done, prepare the following materials: an Olaf mold, two bars of white chocolate (you can prepare an extra bar of dark chocolate for coloring), a bowl, and either a microwave or a double boiler for heating.

1. First, break the chocolate into small pieces and put them in a bowl. Microwave for 1 minute (depending on your microwave's power) and stir until completely melted.

2. Pour the melted white chocolate into the Olaf mold until full. Then, place the entire mold filled with chocolate into the refrigerator or at room temperature to cool.

3. After cooling, turn the "Olaf" mold upside down to release it. The white chocolate body is now complete! Since the FormBox's original transparent sheets are food-safe, they can be used to make molds for chocolates, cookies, and more, even being used by chocolate chain stores in the UK. (Further reading: Paul A. Young Chocolate Chain Stores: How to Use Vacuum Molds!)

4. We repeat step 1 above, melting the dark chocolate and then putting it into a piping bag. Based on your preferences, add eyes, a nose, buttons, and arms to Olaf, and there you have it—Olaf lying in the snow!

Serving homemade shaped desserts during Christmas is very festive. Dessert molds can be made using fast tools like 3D printing, vacuum forming, etc. The ability to infinitely reproduce various styles or quantities is very practical for parties or gift exchanges. For small to medium-sized dessert shops, it not only facilitates creative development but also saves production time.

Do you have even better creative designs? Come and try using theFormBox vacuum forming machine to make your own creative desserts and impress everyone at your Christmas party! Alternatively, we also provide high-quality3D printing services to create exquisite samples or functional prototypes for your custom projects.
