[3D Printing News] New Auxiliary Casting Material - PolyCast

Our previous article also introduced using SLA resin 3D printers to print casting objects, which were then sent to a factory for investment casting (lost-wax casting).
Now we have a new secret weapon: PolyCast filament. PolyCast is a material specifically designed for investment casting (lost-wax casting). It can be polished with an alcohol polisher and completely burns away during casting to ensure the integrity of the mold cavity.

After all that introduction, aren't you eager to see what we printed?
What?! It's a human head, and it's quite literally taken from our colleagues' likenesses in the company. The production method involves scanning a head with a scanner to create a 3D file, then 3D printing the head model.

Next, the printed head is placed into the Polysher alcohol polisher. Ready to embark on a boozy journey (just kidding)

The head rotates in a seemingly relaxed, slightly tipsy state, waiting for a few minutes.

The tipsy head is polished and complete. Look at its newborn appearance, with a smooth and delicate surface.
If this machine could be used on real faces, cosmetic clinics would probably go out of business. It's truly amazing!

Let's look at other cast products!

The final brass heads all have very smooth surfaces.

Having the boss's head as a small decoration doesn't seem so bad either (?).

Now, by simply using this PolyCast filament, you can quickly produce small batches of metal parts, eliminating the need for expensive molds. 3D printing saves you over 10 times the money and time.
Perhaps next time, you could consider making a head model of someone you like (or an idol), and then stare at it blankly at home?!
