Since the merger of Ultimaker and MakerBot, UltiMaker's first new S-series product, equipped with new features such as an integrated air manager and a flexible build plate, elevates ease of use and reliability to new levels, and is more accurate than its predecessors. The new auto-leveling heated bed function can improve first layer adhesion and print on a 330x240x300mm build plate.

In 2018, Ultimaker launched the Ultimaker S5, which remained its main 3D printer until the launch of the S7. This not only assures users about the air quality around the machine, but also improves overall print quality with its fully enclosed chamber and single-pane glass door.
