【3D Printer】Ultimaker 3 Hands-on Review PART 2! Beyond Your Imagination!

Yes, that's right! Ultimaker 3 Review Part 2 is here at the beginning of the new year!
For those who haven't seen Part 1, 3DMart has prepared a portal for you: Ultimaker 3 Review Part 1
And the Ultimaker 3 introduction summary: Ultimaker 3: New Generation of 3D Printers

After this period of testing and printing, 3DMart has many 3D printed models to share with you, to demonstrate the different surface qualities achieved by printing the same object using various Ultimaker filaments. This will allow you to compare the differences in printing effects between the Ultimaker 3 and other models.
(Note: Whether using the Ultimaker 3 3D printer or the Ultimaker 2+ 3D printer, perfect prints can be achieved with Ultimaker 3D printing filaments!)

Ultimaker's most groundbreaking invention is, of course, the dual extrusion system, which allows one nozzle to print water-soluble support. After printing, the object can be immersed in water to easily remove the support, leaving no printing marks and resulting in a perfectly smooth surface.

First, let's look at the drill model. 3D printing technology is often used for prototyping during the research and development phase, and many Ultimaker users also use it for pre-molding evaluation. For the internal structure of the object, most people choose to place the inner surface facing upwards and use the outer surface as the support surface, but this inevitably leaves pitted support marks. This time, we used water-soluble support to ensure that the outer surface also has a smooth and beautiful finish.

Next, it's time for water-soluble support to truly shine! This sphere is actually printed as a single piece, mimicking a gyroscope. Ordinary 3D printers would never be able to achieve this effect, as standard single-nozzle 3D printers cannot remove support from such complex structures. This highly active gyroscope can only be printed using the Ultimaker 3.

This sphere was printed using Ultimaker PLA.

This is how it looks right after printing. Just drop it into water to dissolve the support, and after a while, it will become a constantly rotating object. Isn't that amazing! 3DMart also thinks the Ultimaker 3 is truly impressive!

Next, we printed a bicycle stand. 3DMart used various Ultimaker materials such as PLA, CPE, ABS, Nylon, and wood filament.

And Nylon too! Against the wooden texture, it instantly gains a touch of elegance.

(Note: Ultimaker 2+ and 3 series machines can use all the above materials. For this sample, PLA material was printed using Ultimaker 3 with water-soluble support, and the rest were printed using Ultimaker 2+.)

Next, in the past, there was no information about TPU in the material combinations announced on the official Ultimaker website~
But have any of you tried the combination of TPU and PLA materials?
How will these two soft and hard material combinations be presented? And what kind of sparks will they create?
Please see the following 3D model results~

The Ultimaker, a 3D printer capable of printing intricate objects, combined with its dual-material (soft and hard) and dual-nozzle system,
is suitable for printing functional objects that require shock absorption, anti-slip properties, and pressure resistance. Ultimaker allows your creativity to unleash even more potential!!
For more detailed photos and information about the new TPU-PLA combination, please go to the portal!

Finally, the dual nozzle design of the Ultimaker 3 is not just for printing water-soluble supports. Another purpose, of course, is for two-color printing.
With your excellent aesthetic sense, you will definitely be able to print more perfectly matched models.

The colors of Ultimaker filaments are so rich, and they inexplicably complement black, giving a very powerful feel.

In all the desktop FDM printers 3DMart has seen, probably only the Ultimaker 3 can produce such high-quality 3D printed models. This is all thanks to the professional-grade Ultimaker 3, which has truly opened our eyes!

Ultimaker 3 Review Part 2 will conclude here! Have you seen any design ideas or practical 3D printing filaments that caught your eye?
The Ultimaker 3's groundbreaking dual-extrusion design and automatic leveling system ensure that printed objects meet your needs.
