TPU has good elasticity, toughness, wear resistance, can be bent and is not easy to break. Whether it is bicycle parts, shoes or ergonomic objects/accessories, creations can be completed using elastic materials. In addition, its oil resistance and resistance to dirt make printed products easier to preserve. This 3D printing material will surely elevate 3D printer creations to a new level!
Today, 3DMart is taking everyone into the 3D printing lab!
The material combinations currently announced by Ultimaker are as follows:
● PLA - PVA
● Nylon- PVA
● PLA - PLA
● ABS - ABS
● CPE - CPE
There is no information about TPU~~
So, today's 3DMart lab will invite TPU and PLA to conduct pairing tests~
Let's experiment to see if the combination of TPU-PLA will be successful?
What kind of sparks will the combination of soft and hard materials create?
Let's take a look at 3DMart's exclusive experiment!
First, let's unveil the printing results
Machine used: Ultimaker 3 Extended
Slicing software: Cura 2.3.1
Materials used: Ninjatek - Cheetah / Ultimaker PLA
Layer thickness: 0.1mm
Print temperature: 220℃ / 200℃
Platform temperature: 60℃
Print speed: 40mm/s
Nozzle diameter: 0.4mm
Cool~~Let's see how the drawing was printed?

When designing, two STL files need to be designed and given the correct positioning coordinates. To strengthen the bonding, the joints are designed in a threaded shape.

After easily selecting the materials to be used with Cura, use the Merge function to combine the two.

Wow! It was successfully printed, a new combination of soft and hard materials.
The top and bottom are covered with PLA, and the middle is TPU elastic material. Printed using Ultimaker 3's dual nozzle technology.

This new combination of TPU-PLA, a new pairing of soft and hard, expands the range of materials that Ultimaker can use.

↑Pressure test on this model↑
With the Ultimaker 3D printer, capable of printing intricate objects, combined with the soft and hard dual materials and dual nozzles,
it is suitable for printing functional objects such as shock absorption, anti-slip, and pressure resistance.
Using Ultimaker allows your creativity to unleash more potential!!
What kind of experiment will 3DMART bring to 3D printing experts next time?
Stay tuned!!!
