【3D Printing】MakerWorld Uses MakerLab Ornament Maker to Create a Christmas Atmosphere
3D printer manufacturer Bambu Lab has launched the "Christmas Ornament Maker," a creative tool designed to bring a personalized touch to Christmas decorations.
The celebration of the Christmas Ornament Maker is in full swing at MakerWorld during the Christmas season.
To create a festive atmosphere, users can utilize the special MakerLab tool for Christmas to design ornaments.
This is a free MakerLab tool that allows users to create customized "rotatable" Christmas tree hanging ornaments, including a range of elements for free creativity.
Christmas Ornament Maker
Launched on November 28, 2024, as part of the Makerlab platform, this tool enables 3D printing enthusiasts to create unique, vibrant Christmas ornaments that reflect their style and creativity.
The tool is as easy to use as it sounds.
Users can choose between hollow or solid ornament styles, as well as a variety of regular and Christmas colors.
It also offers extensive customization options, including adding text using various pre-selected fonts, stickers, and emojis (from a comprehensive library of Christmas-themed graphics), as well as uploading custom SVG files for even more personalized designs.

Users can further enhance their ornaments by deciding the number of rings, creating a dynamic rotating effect.
The tool supports multi-color designs, ensuring each piece has an exquisite, festive appearance.
We also used it in practice, and the overall process was easy to learn and smooth, and the process of freely defining content and unleashing creativity felt therapeutic.
When choosing a hollow design, special attention should be paid to whether any suspended parts of the image or text are connected to other parts, to prevent printing failures.
If there are suspended elements, some small images can be used as bridging connection points. Alternatively, a background layer can be added for support.

Each ornament can be printed with up to four rotating rings, forming a hanging ornament with a rotating function.
When it hangs on your Christmas tree and spins, it's sure to amaze your guests, or at least entertain your cat.
This tool is free for MakerWorld users but is only available during the holiday season.
In addition to this tool release, Bambu Lab's range of 3D printers has also undergone price adjustments, making it a suitable time to purchase for personal use or as a gift, adding extra joy to the holiday season.
3D Printing Industry Embraces the Festive Spirit
Holiday seasons have long inspired creativity in the 3D printing community, with companies leveraging this enthusiasm by hosting challenges and offering tools that encourage personalization and innovation.
For example, 3D design software company Vectary partnered with MyMiniFactory to host the Christmas Ornament 3D Design Holiday Challenge.
Participants submitted their creations using Vectary’s browser-based 3D design platform, competing for prizes worth over $3,500, including a MakeX M-Jewelry 3D printer.
Prize categories encouraged creators to share YouTube tutorials highlighting their workflow.
To foster creativity, Vectary provided templates and video guides, making the festive activity engaging and accessible for all participants.
As early as 2014, online 3D printing service provider i.materialise held an annual Christmas Challenge, inviting participants to design 3D printable ornaments for the holidays.
Designs needed to be optimized for polyamide and within a size limit of 10 x 10 x 10 cm.
Winners received a print of their design, a 50 Euro i.materialise printing voucher, Autodesk Premium Membership, and Instructables Pro Membership.
Various competitions encourage creativity, proposing themes ranging from traditional Christmas motifs to unique interpretations, continuously injecting new vitality into the 3D printing industry.
