The King Car Education Foundation established the King Car Art Center in 2008. The "King Car Art Center" aims to support local Taiwanese art and literature, encourage young creators, provide a comprehensive platform, and strive to enhance public aesthetics. The King Car Art Center has a total of three exhibition spaces: Nanjing Branch and Chengde Branch in Taipei, and Yuanshan Branch in Yilan, each with different exhibition characteristics.

The types of exhibitions are quite diverse, ranging from sculptures, prints, three-dimensional works, videos... and other mixed-media artworks. The Chengde Branch in Taipei, in addition to regular exhibitions, also regularly holds creative and art-related lectures and events, inviting various masters from the design and art fields to share their creative journeys. It also discovers more Taiwanese creators by holding different design competitions, starting from life experiences and creativity.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, exhibitions at the King Car Art Center have been suspended due to government policies. All previously scheduled exhibitions were temporarily halted. The team sought various alternative ways to allow artists' exhibitions to proceed as scheduled through online exhibitions despite the pandemic.

To organize online exhibitions, the King Car Art Center considered many different online exhibition models. In addition to simply displaying image files on the official website, they hoped to provide visitors with a better experience. Therefore, through Matterport panoramic scanning, the art center's exhibition rooms were transformed into virtual reality spaces. Visitors can freely navigate through the exhibition rooms and interact directly with artworks online using only their mobile phones or tablets. They can also view each artwork in high definition. When they see a favorite piece, visitors can adjust the angle and zoom in and out to view the details completely.

Not only that, in the panoramic virtual museum, each artwork has a Mattertags annotation point. Simply move the mouse over the point, and the screen will automatically display the artwork's information, from its name and media used to its actual dimensions, all at a glance.

A planning specialist at the King Car Art Center mentioned that since the exhibition hall is located in Taipei, not everyone can visit during each exhibition period. Through Matterport panoramic scanning, people from other counties and cities can also visit online, and even the whole of Taiwan and the world can see all the art center's exhibitions. The reason for deciding to purchase a Matterport Pro2 3D panoramic scanner is that it can cope with the pandemic situation and promote through a virtual online mode. Even after the pandemic, it can promote in a faster, more transparent way, allowing the excellent works of young artists to be seen by the world.

As the level three pandemic alert gradually lifts, the King Car Art Center hopes to use 3D panoramic scanning to serve as an online virtual preview for exhibitions, bridging the gap between the general public and art. The Matterport scanning effect is more interactive than flat promotional materials like magazines and books. Through online and offline exhibition methods, it offers a dual sensory experience and results!

The King Car Art Center provides a completely free platform for young Taiwanese artists, opening applications for exhibition spaces every July to artists aged 20-40. Through review, interviews, and professional training courses, it offers comprehensive planning for each artist from the early, middle, and late stages to exhibition setup.
