【New 3D Printer】Prusa i3 MK3S Original Machine: Unboxing and Hands-on Review!

The predecessor of the original Prusa I3 MK3S was the Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer. The new PRUSA i3 MK3S not only inherits the advantages of the old version but also boasts more new features: a redesigned new nozzle, sensors, a new magnetic MK52 heatbed, belts, textile sleeves, and more. 3DMART finally welcomed this new 3D printer into the company today and immediately conducted an unboxing and hands-on review for everyone!

The first thing we saw when we opened the box was a bag of gummy bears? That's right! As a good helper for "Makers" or design studios, humor and energy are essential. The manufacturer provides gummy bears with the unboxing so you can enjoy them while removing the foam.

Currently, there are two types of packages on the market: one is a self-assembly kit, and the other is a pre-assembled original machine, which is ready to use out of the box, requires no self-assembly, and causes no worries. 3DMART offers the pre-assembled original machine, hoping that customers can easily focus on 3D printing results and subsequent work. After unboxing the original machine version of the PRUSA i3 MK3S, you can start it directly by taking it out of the box; you won't see any loose parts!

There is a roll of filament on each of the left and right sides. The accessories included with the shipment, such as the manual and invoice, are placed on the table in a non-complex manner. For beginners, the Prusa i3 MK3 3D printer comes with filament, which is very convenient. You don't have to worry about comparing different filaments before your first use; just be bold and give it a try.
After taking out the Prusa i3 MK3, there will be a cable tie in the middle for securing it. Remember to cut it off before printing out of the box so that the nozzle and build plate can move smoothly.

Before removal, there was already a completed 3D printed object on the base plate, indicating that it had passed normal printing tests. The new MK52 magnetic heatbed replacement platform is very convenient, featuring a PEI surface and anti-rust coating. Best of all, the flexible platform helps with easy removal of 3D printed objects.

The Prusa i3 MK3S 3D printer uses a rotary knob to select operation options. However, the screen displays clear images and is easy to operate. It also has an automatic calibration system before 3D printing.

(The sped-up automatic calibration operates on its own before printing starts, no manual adjustment needed.)

In addition, the new machine is equipped with Trinamic2130 drivers and Noctua fans, making the Prusa i3 MK3S quieter than its predecessor. The 3D printing method involves the Y-axis moving back and forth in conjunction with the nozzle movement, which differs from the gantry system of Ultimaker 3D printers.

We couldn't wait to print several different objects to test the surface quality. The Prusa i3 MK3S 3D printer offers exquisite print quality among single-nozzle models, making it suitable for design studios, educational institutions, and maker spaces. Most importantly, its more affordable price makes it an excellent choice for even personal studios. The print quality from this test also left us very satisfied.
