[3D Printing Applications] Rising Stars of Design: A Recap of the New Generation Design Exhibition!

[3D Printing Application] A Grand Gathering of Emerging Designers: A Recap of the Young Designers' Exhibition!

The "Young Designers' Exhibition" is currently the largest joint exhibition for design students, featuring diverse design fields such as product and craft, visual communication, multimedia, spatial and architectural design, and fashion. It is an important platform in Taiwan for discovering excellent design talent and outstanding creativity. The exhibition attracts approximately 90,000 visitors each year, and this year, 3DMart also sponsored students to participate in the Young Designers' Exhibition. Now, let's look back at the brilliant works of these emerging designers!

First up is "National Taipei University of Technology," where we are stationed. This year's design works by students in the Industrial Design department are full of streamlined shapes, many of which focus on humanitarian concerns and environmental issues.

3DMart provided the latest Ultimaker S5 3D printer on-site to print free gifts for students. Many visitors were delighted to see the gifts being made and given away immediately by the on-site 3D printer, often crowding the small aisle at the counter. The 3D printed cool card designed by NTUT is small and exquisite, featuring multiple layered structures like镂空 (cutouts), 浮凸 (embossments), and 刻字 (engravings) within just five centimeters. We are very pleased that the Ultimaker S5 could meet these intricate requirements.

National United University used an Ultimaker 3. The students designed a mini wrench as a 3D printed gift, which was given away free to students and was immediately snatched up on the first day of the Young Designers' Exhibition. If you visit a design exhibition in the future, you can purchase practical and interesting design products from the students. Our colleagues couldn't resist buying their uniquely shaped glass jars to support these future rising stars.

Many cultural and creative products combine handmade and wooden designs, emphasizing the sensory perception and interaction between people and products, or incorporating storytelling concepts.

There were many groundbreaking achievements in industrial design. This truly functional quadcopter, which goes beyond a mere display model, can rotate its front camera 360 degrees like a robotic arm. Its powerful kinetic energy almost caused it to "break free" from its stand and take off directly in the exhibition hall.

The most astonishing exhibits were the futuristic sports cars and jet ski models. The 3D printed small model in the picture pales in comparison to these. It appears to have been produced with a single-extruder 3D printer, and the more pronounced texture would look better if a dual-extruder system with PVA water-soluble support was used. Many customized design samples at the exhibition were produced using 3D printing, differing from the traditional method of cutting and sanding EK boards and then outsourcing manufacturing. This not only reduces mold costs but also helps save manual production time, which is incredibly helpful for design students with limited time and money, as well as unique customization needs.

Not only was 3D printing used for small prototypes to confirm shapes and functions before large-scale production, but even the final products at the exhibition were manufactured using 3D printing, then processed and painted. Many schools even have internal 3D printing workshops, allowing students to control the entire process from design to development. The speed of technological advancement truly makes one wish they were born a few years later!

We are delighted that the students' exhibitions were a complete success, truly an eye-opener for our special correspondent. If you have any needs, we also provide high-quality 3D printing services.
