[3D Printing Hands-on] "Wanhao UV Curing Box" Hands-on Review!

【3D Printing Test】"Wanhao UV Curing Chamber" Unboxing and Review!

Hello everyone! We're back with another unboxing review for a new post-processing accessory! You might have noticed that 3DMart has recently added many 3D manufacturing related peripherals, including CNC machines, laser cutters, and vacuum forming machines. Of course, post-processing accessories are also a must-have. Among common 3D printing technologies, the delicate and smooth surface of SLA resin prints is highly appealing. However, compared to other technologies, they are more prone to brittleness and require care to avoid impact. Therefore, UV light exposure is needed for strengthening.
We were the first to use the WANHAO Boxman-1 UV Curing Chamber to see how well it performs in post-curing. (Further reading: Beginner's Guide - Comparison and Summary of 3 Common 3D Printing Technologies)

The outer box has careful foam protection to ensure the curing chamber body and accessories are intact. Inside the box, there's an English instruction manual. Since the operation is intuitive and simple, with illustrations, and direct control via the touch screen on the top right, even our non-engineer editor can use it with ease.

After plugging in the power and placing the bottom plate, to achieve 360-degree illumination, the platform material is also made of fully transparent glass. The curing chamber is equipped with 4 UV LED light sources and a full mirrored reflection design inside, aiming to ensure that UV light evenly and completely illuminates every corner of the 3D printed product.

Is the unboxing process a bit brief? That's right! This Wanhao UV Curing Chamber is that simple, almost plug-and-play. Although we still recommend using it indoors in a well-ventilated area, the curing chamber's fan has a built-in activated carbon filter, so there won't be any chemical odors. For the rear air intake, you need to leave some space and avoid pushing the machine flush against the wall.

When post-curing a resin 3D printed object with UV light, you'll see the UV LED lights inside the chamber turn on. We also remind you to turn off the UV lights before opening the chamber door. Since UV radiation is a form of electromagnetic radiation, contact with eyes and skin should be avoided as much as possible.

Next, we will test the effect of 3D printed objects before and after curing. We used the DWS XFAB 2500HD SLA 3D printer with 917 gray resin to print a super-thin 1mm bridge sample in the center. The left side is without UV post-curing, and the right side is the finished product after enhanced curing. We specifically invited Mr. Rhino to verify!

The 3D printed product that has not undergone post-curing is relatively soft, and stepping on it causes it to bend almost to the tabletop. In contrast, the cured product on the right firmly supports Mr. Rhino with only a slight bend, indicating a significant increase in hardness and strength.

With the Wanhao UV Curing Chamber, you can quickly strengthen 3D printed objects made of photosensitive resin, increasing their hardness and durability. This cost-effective post-processing assistant helps you finish your work without overtime and keeps you smiling every day. Do you have similar 3D printing needs?
