[3D Printing News] Ultimaker "Marketplace" Downloads Exceed One Million!

【3D Printing News】Ultimaker "Marketplace" Exceeds One Million Downloads!

"The 'Marketplace' in Cura has surpassed one million downloads in less than a year since its release, confirming that 3D printing users worldwide prefer to integrate software and hardware into their workflows. This is a significant recognition of Ultimaker's development." Paul Heiden, Senior Vice President of Ultimaker, stated that Ultimaker is not only a leading 3D printer manufacturer but also represents the world's first integrated system that connects software and hardware to provide a complete solution for digital manufacturing.

Key Features of the "Marketplace"
Through the "Marketplace's" parameter database and plugins, users can discover that as the demand for 3D printing grows, more composite materials are constantly being released, such as fiberglass, carbon fiber composite filaments, as well as ESD flame-retardant, chemical-resistant, UV-resistant, wear-resistant, high-hardness, and flexible materials, among others, offering more choices than ever before.

Ultimaker 3D printers are compatible with other open filaments. To provide correct parameter settings and ensure success, they enhance related services for global users through the "Material Alliance" program. Renowned material suppliers from around the world, such as Owens Corning, DSM, BASF, Dupont, and Clariant, all provide optimal official parameters for Ultimaker 3D printers. In less than a year, there are over 30 manufacturers worldwide providing parameter data for over 80 different materials.

Plugins

Various software plugins can provide personalized adjustments as needed. For example, some plugins can connect CAD and
Ultimaker Cura, making it easier for engineers and designers to directly slice 3D models for printing, simplifying the process. Ultimaker also thoughtfully recognized that downloading and installing are common entry barriers for beginners. Therefore, these functions have been integrated into the new version of Cura and can be found in the upper right corner of the interface after opening Cura.

(Select the "Plugins" menu in the Ultimaker "Marketplace," and click install to download the desired plugin functions.)
Ultimaker believes that successful initiatives depend on user contributions, and assisting users in realizing their creativity is the ultimate goal. Specialty filaments can bring more possibilities to high-performance 3D printed parts. Enterprise users of Ultimaker Cura can also develop their own plugins to better meet their needs and provide open-source sharing. The best part is that all of this is completely free! Simply create a free Ultimaker Cloud account to enjoy all these features.

We are delighted to see that the "Marketplace" feature, launched less than a year ago, has already achieved over one million downloads. Using it has become incredibly simple and easy, and you can find more information about the latest filaments! Haven't tried it yet? Give it a try now!
