1. Open the top of the box.
2. Open the packaging and remove the power cord and accessories.
3. Remove the top foam layer.
4. Grasp the handle on the printer bag and lift the printer out of the box, placing it on a flat surface.
5. Remove the printer from its bag and place it on your workbench.
6. Remove the microfiber shipping cover from the printer.
7. Plug the included power cord into the printer and connect it to a power outlet. Turn on the printer using the power switch on the back.
8. Peel off all protective films from the display, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printer setup.
From the moment you receive the box, the Formlabs experience begins. Automatic Resin Dispensing
The resin handling system automatically dispenses resin into the printer.
The Form 4 resin cartridge still has a 1-liter capacity, but plastic usage has been reduced by 63% and volume by 30%, resulting in less waste and improved storage efficiency.
Once installed in the printer, the cartridge weight sensor measures the amount of resin in the cartridge, clearly displaying the remaining resin for user planning.
You simply open the top cover, and the material easily flows into the resin tank.
The resin level sensor accurately measures the amount of resin in the resin tank and controls the automatic resin dispensing system, ensuring stable resin levels and excellent printing performance.
Start Printing
After the Form 4 is plugged in and turned on, the touchscreen automatically guides you through leveling using the provided tools.
The entire setup process takes less than 5 minutes, plus a few minutes to download and install the PreForm software, connect the Form 4 to a Wi-Fi network, and link it in the software to upload sliced print files.
The PreForm software is intuitive and easy to operate, making testing and printing simple from scratch.
Key options include part size, orientation, support structures, layout (for multiple parts), cavities (and holes).
You can also add surface textures and labels.
