Gnomes are creatures that appear in European legends, short in stature, wearing red hats and logging clothes, often active underground and appearing in groups.
The word "gnome" is derived from Ge (earth) + Nomos (home) or Gnosis (wise). Gnome-shaped decorations are commonly seen in homes in Europe and America.

GUS

Gus's original size is 17 cm. Reduced by 50%, it can be made into a small flower pot, suitable for any environment, and ready to protect your home with its unique charm.

Not only does he have an interesting design, but he is also very easy to 3D print. This gnome does not require supports or infill; for larger versions, the designer chose a resolution of 0.2 mm, while for smaller versions, a lower 0.12 mm was chosen.
If you plan to place it outdoors, PLA may not be the best choice, so consider a more durable material like PETG.

The smaller version is only 9 cm high, and regardless of size, it can serve as a fun painting subject.
One maker made a clever choice: they used marble PLA for the beard to create a very cool look.

Man 2 Autumn

Gnomes are naturally creatures who love the earth and gardens, and even if you don't have a garden, you can still have your own little gnome.
This little guy has some lovely design details, with decorations on his hat and holding a pumpkin and a sunflower in his hands.

You can enjoy painting him, or if your device has a multi-color printing setup, you can also make things simpler.
If you don't want him to feel lonely, the designer also created an equally adorable companion.

When it comes to 3D printing, lower layer height values will help achieve smoother details – especially when printing at smaller scales.
The print settings shared by the designer include a layer height of 0.08 mm, 2 perimeters, 15% infill, and the use of tree supports, all of which extend the print time to nearly 3 hours at the default size.
Maker TheBigSlice successfully scaled the part down to 300%, but in this case, printing took approximately 14 hours.

Protognome

With its flexible and charming design, this is the perfect model for those who enjoy creative 3D printing.

A particularly cool part of the Protognome is that the beard has two options.
You can create a regular, neat beard printed on a "static" part, or you can choose a gnome with a wobbly beard, as shown in the image above.

This model is divided into interlocking parts, so you don't have to worry if you don't have a multi-color setup.
Printing is recommended with 15-20% infill, a layer height of 0.2 mm, supports needed for the hat, and optional supports for the beard.
The designer also notes that due to tolerances when printing parts separately, sanding and gluing may be required.

No-Support Gnome

Every gnome has unique features and personality, and perhaps one of the greatest features of this particular design is that the prominent beard requires no supports!

You can paint it, use special filament, or just keep its pure color - either way, it will look great!
If you're interested in making the most of Bambu Lab's AMS, makers on MakerWorld have shared print profiles specifically designed for this setup.

The design has received high praise across different repository websites.
Default settings (e.g., 0.2 mm layer height, 15% infill, and 2 walls) should work well; a single color print will take nearly 3 hours.
Printables and Thingiverse feature a total of 7 modified versions of this famous gnome.
The selection is quite wide, from chess pieces to ornaments and eyeglass holders, which also make interesting gift ideas!

Baby Gnome

For those looking to add a touch of cuteness and creativity to a baby's room, as a decoration for a baby shower, or simply to have something adorable around, the Baby Gnome model is an irresistible choice.
Its charming design combines delicate details with fun shapes, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy personalized 3D models.

To print the Baby Gnome, the designer shared a profile with a layer height of 0.16 mm, 3 walls, and 10% infill, ensuring the model is sturdy.
The print can be done in multiple colors or a single hue, and you can find files in both STL and 3MF formats.
Please remember that while PLA is relatively safe for food contact, caution is still advised when making products like the one shown above.

Shmebulock from Gravity Falls

If you're a fan of Gravity Falls and want to add some of the show's magic and humor to your collection, then printing Shmebulock might be the perfect choice.
This little gnome is cursed to repeat only his name for 1000 years.

And Shmebulock isn't the only gnome in Gravity Falls, so it's natural for some to confuse him with other magical creatures, such as Steve.
While the unique Shmebulock is purely for decoration, Steve's design is practical, adding fun to toothpaste dispensing.

Although there are no shared print value recommendations for the two gnomes, considering the overhanging position of their hands, it's easy to imagine that supports would be necessary.
For reference, the print settings used for the creation above were a 0.2 mm layer height and 20% infill.

Gnome Keychain

Gnomes are always found in gardens, forests, and almost any safe place they can find!
These cute creatures can be mischievous, but they can also be very affectionate and easily carried in your pocket.

Why not print a mini guardian to watch over your heart and your readily accessible keys?
Even if you already have a cool keychain, it can also serve as a decorative accessory for your bag or backpack.

This model measures approximately 50 x 15 mm and is designed to be printed with a dual-color profile via AMS.
That said, if you follow the guide in the image above for inspiration, painting should not be a problem.
For settings, the designer shared print profiles including a 0.2 mm layer height, 2 perimeters, and 15% infill, all of which mean approximately 5 hours of print time.
