[Vacuum Forming Applications] First Time Mold Making Success! FormBox Video Demonstration!

【Vacuum Forming Application】First-Time Molding Made Easy! FormBox Video Demonstration!

Typhoon Lekima is approaching, and 3DMart cares about you! Don't let typhoon holidays be boring, attach a regular vacuum cleaner and enjoy molding at home! The FormBox is simple, easy to use, stable, and affordably priced, which is why after our last FormBox unboxing article, many customers were interested in this vacuum forming machine but hesitated due to concerns about usability. Don't worry, the demonstration video below shows simple steps that everyone can follow! (Further reading: Mayku FormBox Vacuum Forming Machine, Hot Unboxing!)

The yellow hemispherical object demonstrated in the video is an architectural model from the official FormBox video. We used a 3D printer to print it using PLA material, and it's ready to use.

The ceramic heater above can reach over 300 degrees Celsius, so be careful not to touch it directly with your hands to avoid burns. However, operating the machine with both handles as shown in the video is very safe.

Additionally, we filmed another mask model from a different angle. This object was also created directly using an Ultimaker 3D printer. The most convenient part is that by following a similar method, almost every individual can easily create their desired works and replicate them endlessly, whether for preserving replicas, mass production for sale, or even for outer packaging, it's very practical.

One key technical principle to consider in vacuum forming design is evident in the mask's eye sockets, where there are four small through-holes in the concave area. This design allows air to escape smoothly from the concave area's vents during the vacuuming process, enabling the shell mold in the concave area to conform more closely to the surface shape.

FormBox offers two types of original material sheets, both 100% recyclable. The white material sheets are suitable for samples to be colored or for general packaging, while the transparent cast sheets can be used directly as food molds. This method is already widely used by Paul A. Young, an artisanal chocolate chain in the UK. (Further reading: Artisanal Chocolate Shop: DIY Food Molds with FormBox!)

Because the vacuum forming effect is very snug, the formed transparent material sheets are almost indistinguishable in photos except for reflective areas. And this effect can be achieved simply by connecting a household vacuum cleaner, making it very easy to use in general offices, studios, or educational institutions.
