【3D Printing News】Cura 4.4 Beta: Parameter Settings with One Click!
Users of 3D printers share a common experience: before 3D printing, they usually spend some time researching parameters for related materials and adjusting values one by one. Engineers might prioritize dimensional accuracy for testing parts; designers might need visually appealing and realistic models; or general users might just want to finish 3D printing in the shortest time to quickly validate an idea. All of these now have time-saving solutions in the new Ultimaker Cura 4.4!
The new "Intent" feature allows users to obtain the best automatic parameter adjustments with intuitive settings, specifically designed to simplify the 3D printing process for these special needs, saving time and increasing 3D printing success rates, showcasing the best benefits of 3D printing in enterprises. This Ultimaker Cura 4.4 beta version will distinguish three types of intents and summarize the adjustment content by the desired effect, making it simple and clear:
1. Draft: Obtain the relatively best 3D printing values in the shortest possible time.
2. Visual: Improve the aesthetic quality of objects, printing models with excellent visual appearance and surface quality; however, this might sacrifice some time.
3. Engineering: Focus on improving the dimensional accuracy of objects, enhancing the dimensional precision and tolerance of 3D printed objects.
What if an engineer wants the smallest print tolerance? Just adjust the "Engineering" slider to the desired value and press slice to 3D print. What if a designer needs excellent visual effects? Select "Visual," slice, and print—it's that simple! Unfamiliar with 3D printing? No problem! Just choose the desired field or adjust the slider according to your preferred outcome, eliminating the hassle of setting individual values, making 3D printing easy. (The final Chinese name and operating location of this feature will be based on the official version, which will be provided for your reference at that time.)

(Use "Engineering" settings to print models with better dimensional accuracy and tolerance.)
Currently, when used with filaments such as PLA, Tough PLA, and ABS, as well as support materials PVA and Breakaway, the "Intent" setting can be used on both dual-extrusion Ultimaker S5 and Ultimaker S3, simplifying parameter adjustments for dual-material printing.
