[3D Printer Tutorial] Sinterit Lisa Basic Installation and Operation Procedure

【3D Printer Tutorial】Sinterit Lisa Basic Installation and Operation Procedures

Sinterit Lisa desktop 3D printer uses Laser Powder Sintering (hereinafter referred to as SLS) technology for 3D printing. Powder material is heated and fused inside the machine. Polymer powder layers are placed on the print bed in the Sinterit, and parts that need to be formed are fused according to each horizontal slice until the final product is printed.

I. Main Application Scope of Sinterit Lisa

Sinterit Lisa provides perfect industrial quality. This technology is suitable for:
.Small elements with fine details
.Complex structures
.Complex solid shapes, movable objects
.Multiple objects simultaneously
.Harsh environmental conditions (e.g., temperature resistance)
.Strong, lightweight parts

Main features of Sinterit Lisa:
.Minimum layer thickness of 0.075 mm
.Plug and play, no installation or calibration required
.User-friendly interface with a 4-inch touchscreen
.Wi-Fi connection to track the printing process
.Easy to operate
.Dedicated software - Sinterit Studio 2018 (supports STL, OBJ, 3DS, FBX, DAE, and 3MF formats)
.Powder recycling system allows almost 100% of recycled powder for secondary printing
.Startup time: approx. 45-60 minutes

Printer suitable for the following applications:
.Functional testing
.Rapid prototyping
.Small batch manufacturing
.High-temperature and chemical-resistant applications
.And many more possibilities

II. 3D Printing Parameters and Model Design Guide
Wall thickness The wall thickness of a 3D print must be sufficient to support the model. For larger objects, we recommend using 0.8mm. For smaller objects, a lower wall thickness of 0.4mm can be used.
Embossed and engraved details A minimum detail size of up to 0.1mm is sufficient to print clear and visible details. If you plan to add embossed and engraved styles, we recommend a minimum thickness of 0.15mm and a depth of 0.15mm.
Embossed and engraved text If you plan to add text, we recommend a minimum line width of 0.5-0.6mm and a depth of 0.5mm. Use a bold sans-serif font for better readability, such as Arial Bold.
Minimum feature size The minimum feature size for SLS printing is 1mm. If your feature is a thin line connected on both sides, it can be slightly thinner to 0.5mm, but a thickness of at least 0.8mm is recommended.
Functional gap Movable or interlocking structures are a powerful feature of SLS and can be completed in a single print. A minimum gap of 0.2mm should be maintained between elements; for first-time users, we recommend a minimum gap of 0.5mm.
Escape holes Sometimes it is necessary to increase the gap or create additional escape holes for the powder to remove it when moving parts such as hinges over long distances. It is recommended to create an exit hole with a diameter of at least 4mm in the model.

III. Sinterit Studio Software Installation Guide

1. Connect the USB drive included with the device to your computer's USB port.
2. Locate the Sinterit Studio folder.
3. Double-click the SinteritStudioSetup.exe icon.

4. Select the installation language.

5. Follow the instructions on the installation screen.

6. After the installation is complete, you can use the Sinterit Studio software.

※System Requirements:

.Windows 7 or higher
.Minimum 500 MB storage space
.At least 2 GB RAM
.Graphics display compatible with OpenGL 3.0 or higher

IV. First-Time Machine Use and Unboxing Steps

1. Remove the 3D printer from its packaging and carefully unwrap the protective film and paper.
2. Place it on a stable and sturdy flat surface (ideally where the printer is intended to be placed).
3. Connect the 3D printer to power.
4. Toggle the power button on the back (from 0 to 1).
5. Check if the red safety button has been pulled out. If not, turn it a quarter turn clockwise.
6. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it a quarter turn clockwise. After a moment, the Sinterit Lisa will start.

After turning on the Sinterit Lisa, the startup screen will be displayed, with three functions: "Start New Print," "Clean Printer," and "Advanced Mode" (previous software version).

When using the Sinterit Lisa printer for the first time, you should select Advanced Mode to set up the printer for the WiFi network.

7. Connect the 3D printer to WiFi

To connect the printer to a WiFi network, select the ADVANCED MODE option.

1. On the printer's touchscreen, select ADVANCED MODE.
2. On the printer's touchscreen, select ADVANCED //SELECT WI-FI.
3. Find the network you want to connect to and tap its name.
4. If necessary, enter the password and press OK.
5. Next to SELECT WI-FI, you can see the connected network.

If you want to use the older software version, press the BACK button to return to STANDARD MODE.

8. Prepare for 3D printing

Select the "START NEW PRINT" option and open the lid, the main screen will be displayed.

1. To open the printer, release the magnetic lock on the lid by selecting the "UNLOCK LID" option. The system will count down for 10 seconds after releasing the lock, and the magnetic lock will close again.
2. Gently press down and then gently lift the printer lid.
3. Turn off the power and unplug the power cord from the socket.
4. Carefully remove the internal shipping protection, as well as the shipping protection around the laser.
5. Install the laser protection glass:
a. Secure the heating assembly and remove the pin (or wire) from the top inside.

(Image shows the pin or wire of the heating module.)
※Warning! Be careful of sharp edges and wear safety gloves to protect your hands from the edges of the heating module.

b.Lower the heating module beforehand to place the laser protection glass.

d.Carefully wipe the glass surface with an alcohol swab (ensure no fibers are left on the surface), clean both sides.

e. Image shows the laser protection glass correctly placed on the heater module.

f.Connect the heating module to the lid - use the metal pin.

g.Clean the glass again for any fingerprints or smudges.

6. Check (with gloves or through paper) if the heater's socket is secure. If there is dust/powder on it, blow it off gently.

※Note! Remember, do not touch the heating bulb with your fingers or greasy objects (such as a dirty cloth). Dirt and grease can cause localized overheating and burn out the heater or even cause an explosion during the printing process.

7. Confirm that the powder chamber and print bed are ready (during initial startup, after unboxing, the print bed should be in the same condition as the printer's packaging), check that the wires and the guide plate of the recoater are clean (should be located in the middle of the print bed).

8. Remove the cover plate of the recoater and wipe the rotating shaft with an alcohol swab.

9. After performing all these steps, the printer can be reconnected to the power supply and is ready for printing.

※Important! A yellow triangle displayed on the side of the screen indicates a malfunction. The printer should be checked immediately when the lid is opened. When the lid is open and all visible components are undamaged (check them carefully); please refer to the code displayed within the warning triangle and provide the device's serial number to contact maintenance personnel.
