Today we have released the beta version of Ultimaker Cura 3.2, to save you time and material, and provide you with a better 3D printing experience.
Please note: Although we have added some useful functionality and tested this beta version to the best of our ability, we cannot guarantee the same print reliability as for our stable versions. If you are working on a very important project, please use the latest stable version.
New Printing Features
Tree support. Tree support is an experimental tree-like support structure that uses ‘branches’ to support models.
Branches 'grow' and multiply towards the model, with fewer contact points than alternative support methods. This results in better surface finishes for organic-shaped prints, as well as reduced print time and material use compared to alternative support methods. The user can use tree support in conjunction with other types of support material.
This setting can be found under the experimental category.

Adaptive layers. With adaptive layers, Ultimaker Cura will compute a variable layer height based on the shape of the model.
The algorithm assigns a narrower layer height to sloped surfaces, and a wider layer height to vertical surfaces. The result is high-quality surface finishes with a marginally increased print time. The user can specify the maximum variation, variation step size, and threshold.
This setting can be found under the experimental category.

Enhanced UI Interface
Faster startup.Printer definitions are now loaded when adding a printer, instead of loading every possible printer on startup, resulting in a faster startup process.
Backface culling in layer view.By rendering only the visible surfaces of the model in the layer view, instead of the entire model, the frame rate of the layer view has been doubled, making zooming, rotating, and tracking of the model smoother.
Multi-build plate. When enabled, a new UI element allows the user to create separate build plates within a single workspace. Each build plate will share print settings that can be sliced and sent to a printer or Cura Connect group without needing to clear the build plate multiple times in the software.
The user can arrange each model on the same build plate, or distribute them across multiple build plates. This option can be enabled in preferences.

View optimization. The quick camera controls introduced in version 3.1 have been revised to create more accurate isometric, front, left, and right views.

Sidebar updated to QtQuick 2.0.
The application framework has been updated to increase speed, achieve a better width and style fit, and provides users with drop-down menus styled to fit the enabled Ultimaker Cura theme, instead of the operating system's theme.
Hide sidebar. The sidebar can now be hidden/shown by selecting View > Expand/Collapse Sidebar, or with the hotkey CMD + E (Mac) or CTRL + E (PC and Linux).
CTRL + E (PC and Linux) to hide/show the sidebar. This provides greater visibility for wider build plates, or build plates on small screens.

The sidebar can now be hidden to increase the visibility of the build plate.
Disable "Send slice information".A shortcut to disable "Send slice information" has been added to the first launch, making it easier for privacy-conscious users to keep slice information private.Clicking the disable button will take the user to the preferences, where they can edit preferences accordingly.
Signed binaries (Windows). For security-conscious users, the Windows installer and Windows binaries have been digitally signed to prevent "Unknown application" warnings and virus scanner false-positives.
OctoPrint plugin added to plugin browser. This plugin has been moved to the plugin browser.OctoPrint plugin allows printers managed with OctoPrint to be printed through the Ultimaker Cura interface (version 3.2 or higher).
Improved manual supports. It is now much easier to load models as support structures or prevent supports from being added in certain areas.
This is particularly useful when customized supports are required.
Bug fixes
We pride ourselves on delivering professional, quality-tested software. We have fixed several bugs in this version, including crashes due to config files on remote drives, errors triggered by outdated Arduino drivers, center model options resetting object orientations, and the auto arrange model feature.
Start installing the new software now!
Test the latest version of the world's most advanced 3D printing software and see what new features it offers.
We care about our user feedback and want to continue to provide the best software, so please feel free to give us your feedback so we can implement it for the stable release.
