Sinterit SLS 3D printers can use two types of materials, which significantly impact the mechanical properties of printed objects. Depending on the material used during the sintering process, printed objects can be elastic or tough and highly durable.
PA12 is a polyamide powder with a particle size of 20-100 micrometers. This black, smooth-surfaced material is suitable for printing objects with rich details. It is rigid and extremely durable under adverse conditions (e.g., high temperatures). Due to its mechanical strength and heat resistance, it is an ideal material for functional prototypes or end-use parts.
Clean powder is a smooth virgin PA12 powder, only used to remove residual powder after printing and during the print cleaning process. After cleaning with 30% fresh powder (which needs to be mixed), unsintered powder can be used for the next print.
