【3D Printing Application】Just 3 Quick Steps, No Custom Order Needed for Medical Braces!
What to do about fall injuries? Is ordering custom braces too expensive? Now, with 3D technology, you can quickly customize medical aids in just 3 simple steps. By combining 3D scanning, 3D printing, and vacuum forming machines, you can perfectly create comfortable and well-fitting rehabilitation braces. See the full process here:
We use the Einscan Pro 2X+ 3D scanner to perform 3D scans without touching the injured area. When 3D scanning, try to avoid human movement. In just 5 minutes, you can quickly get a 1:1 scale 3D model of the hand.
This time, we are focusing on creating a brace for a sprained wrist. The 3D model can be directly edited in the scanning software. You can delete the finger part and only keep the main joint that needs to be covered!
After importing the 3D hand model into Ultimaker Cura for automatic calculation, you can use the Ultimaker S5 3D printer to print a physical model of the hand. Finally, place it in the FormBox vacuum former to mold it, and the identical brace shell is complete!

(During the vacuum forming process, you can press the edges of the model with a cloth or use a high-power vacuum cleaner to make the brace fit more snugly.)
After trimming the brace shell and securing it with Velcro, a wrist brace that is moderately soft, easy to put on and take off, and both comfortable to wear and provides good support for the patient's wrist joint, is complete.

(FormBox clear cast sheets are not only food-safe certified but also safe for human contact for up to 8 hours.)
Using a 3D scanner allows for the safe creation of custom 3D models for patients, eliminating the need to press a "splint" onto the affected area or wait for plaster to dry for extended periods. Combining 3D printing and vacuum forming technology to customize medical braces offers a faster, more cost-effective, and comfortable medical experience.
