【3D Printing Test】Phrozen Mini 8K Tutorial: Spider-Manvs.Green Goblin!
Who says Spider-Man has no home? 3D printing brings him right to your home! Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the villain Green Goblin in a direct confrontation! High-precision character models, an in-depth look at the 8K production process, and a complete tutorial for the Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K resin 3D printer, including unboxing, software, and equipment. I. Z-axis Calibration (Video 00:19)
After unpacking the outer box, place the 3D printer on a stable surface, peel off the protective film, open the full-cover lid, and remove the accessories, which include a complete tool kit with connecting cables, a scraper, gloves, a funnel, a USB drive, and more.
1. Loosen the fixing screws
Remove the resin vat and loosen the fixing screws on both sides of the print platform (the platform does not need to be removed).
2. Place paper and start with one click
Place a piece of paper on the LCD panel, then tap "Z Calib" on the touchscreen. The print platform will automatically descend until it is flush with the bottom LCD panel.
3. Tighten screws and raise the platform
After it is completely flush with the paper and LCD panel at the bottom, retighten the four screws on both sides of the platform. Finally, tap "Done" on the screen, and the platform will rise back to the top, completing the calibration.
(Confirm the above 3 steps, check if the bottom LCD curing light is on, then lock the resin vat to begin printing.)
II. 3D Model Slicing (Video 00:56)
The Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K uses CHITUBOX slicing software.
1. Click "Settings" to enter the settings page.
2. Click the "Add" icon to enter the device selection interface, then find the specified 3D printer, "Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K."
3. Select the resin to be used.
4. Insert the 3D model file. Users can adjust detailed parameters according to their preferences and printing conditions.
5. After the data settings are complete, drag the slider on the right to view and simulate the actual molding process. Before starting 3D printing, check that all overhangs of the model have complete support structures.
Finally, click "Slice" to obtain the sliced model file. After software calculation, detailed information will be displayed, including resin type and print time. Save the file to a USB drive, upload it to the machine, and read it in the Phrozen Sonic Mini 8K to start printing.
III. Preparing for 3D Printing (Video 01:35)
1. Pour resin
Pour the resin into the resin vat and stir evenly with a scraper.
2. Close the full-cover hood
3. Upload file
Insert the USB to upload the 3D model file.
4. Select file
Tap "3D Print" on the touchscreen and select the file from the USB.
5. Start operation
Finally, tap "GO" to start 3D printing.
IV. Post-processing of Finished Product (Video 02:36)
After resin 3D printing is complete, the model surface will be covered with liquid resin. This time, we use the WANHAO BOXMAN-1 UV post-curing light to cure the model and remove its support structures.
1. Remove the platform
Remove the print platform along with the 3D printed model.
2. Scrape off the model
Use a scraper to remove the finished product from the platform.
3. Clean the surface
Immerse the model in alcohol to clean off residual resin from the surface.
4. Cure the model
Use a UV post-curing light to quickly cure the 3D printed model.
V. Finished Product Display (Video 02:36)
The total 3D printing time for the Spider-Man assembly model was 21 hours:
．Spider-Man: 9 hours
．Back claws: 2 hours
．Foundation building: 10 hours
