The Bambu Lab AMS is an intelligent system that connects with the print head module to ensure stable feeding and automatic filament switching. The system detects filament tension and actively adjusts the feeding speed. The Bambu Lab AMS can identify loaded filaments and automatically set the most suitable printing parameters. (Only original filaments can be recognized)

The Bambu Lab AMS is equipped with a humidity sensor and a sealed enclosure to keep filament dry and ready for use. This is particularly helpful for hygroscopic engineering materials such as nylon and polycarbonate.

The Bambu Lab AMS consists of 4 filament slots, and up to 4 AMS units can be installed in parallel. The multi-slot design allows for the use of easy-to-remove support materials or soluble filaments, minimizing the difficulty of support removal.

Each AMS unit comes with 4 reusable spool trays (1 high-temperature spool tray and 3 low-temperature spool trays).

Note

  • AMS supports spools with a width of 50-68mm and a diameter of approximately 200mm. When purchasing a single AMS unit, a filament buffer will be included. If you plan to connect multiple AMS units, you will need to purchase an AMS Hub separately.
  • Please avoid using soft materials such as TPE, TPU, or wet PVA, as they may get stuck. Luminous, particle-infused, or carbon fiber/glass fiber-containing filaments may break inside the AMS, and their abrasive nature can wear out internal parts.
  • It is recommended to avoid using cardboard spools with the AMS. The rollers inside the AMS control spool rotation through friction between the plastic spool edge and the rubber rollers. Cardboard spools have low friction, are prone to tearing or deformation, and may cause slipping or jamming, leading to AMS malfunction or damage.
