High Z-axis Precision Printing
During printing, using a smooth PEI print plate helps improve Z-axis accuracy, ensuring higher precision and consistency in vertical dimensions. These characteristics make smooth PEI plates an excellent choice for printing parts that require high fitting accuracy, where precise alignment and strict tolerances are crucial.
Smooth Matte Surface Finish
Using a specially selected matte PEI sheet gives the bottom surface of prints a smooth matte texture, enhancing their overall appearance.
Diverse Filament CompatibilityPEI not only prints with common materials such as PLA, TPU, and PETG, but also with high-temperature materials like ABS and Nylon.
Note: If printing with filaments other than PLA, apply glue to prevent plate tearing.
Reliable Magnetic Adhesion Prevents Warping
The Bambu Smooth PEI Print Plate features a 0.5 mm thick spring steel plate for enhanced magnetic adhesion, which helps prevent warping during 3D printing and ensures optimal print quality. It is also helpful when printing large models with warp-prone materials such as ABS, PC, and Nylon.
Precautions
- Please note that when using the smooth PEI print plate on the A1, there is a higher risk of print plate corner curling or print models detaching from the print plate. This is due to the thicker smooth PEI used on the plate, which increases the distance from the bed magnets and reduces magnetic attraction.
- If bubbles appear at the bottom of the print plate, heating it on the heated bed at a temperature of 80 degrees or higher for several hours can help eliminate them.
- Dust and grease deposited on the build plate can reduce adhesion. It is recommended to regularly clean the surface with detergent and water to maintain optimal adhesion.
- Never clean smooth PEI with acetone, as acetone can damage the PEI surface.
- Always wait a few minutes for the print plate to cool down before removing printed models to facilitate print removal. This prevents damage to the plate and ensures the product's lifespan.
- Carefully sanding the surface with fine sandpaper (600 grit recommended) can help restore adhesion.
- Smooth PEI plates are considered consumables and will degrade over time. Warranty coverage only includes manufacturing defects, not cosmetic damage such as scratches, dents, or cracks. Only plates that are defective upon arrival are covered by the warranty.
