PolyLite™ ASA is a weather-resistant material with the mechanical properties of ABS and excellent weather resistance, often serving as an alternative to ABS. Its UV resistance makes it an ideal material for outdoor applications such as automotive exterior parts, building materials, sporting goods, and outdoor equipment.

PolyMaker PolyLite ASA resists UV-induced fading Why use ASA?

ASA is a common FDM/FFF 3D printing filament and an excellent engineering plastic, possessing good mechanical and physical properties, capable of prolonged exposure to outdoor or cold climates. ASA and ABS have similar structures, but ASA offers three optimizations: better mechanical properties, superior aesthetic appearance, and UV resistance.

Therefore, ASA has strong resistance to harsh weather conditions, complementing the shortcomings of ABS, making it suitable for multi-industry applications. ASA can also reduce warping issues in large ABS printed objects, making it suitable for the automotive industry, outdoor industry, and electrical equipment (such as junction boxes), preventing yellowing over a year.

In terms of 3D printing parameters, the general nozzle heating temperature for ASA is 240 to 260℃, and the bed temperature is 75 to 95℃. (The above parameters are based on PolyMaker PolyLite ASA)
