Ultimaker S7 PEI Flexible Build Plate

Ultimaker S7 PEI Flexible Build Plate

The PEI Flexible Build Plate is the print surface for the UltiMaker S7. This PEI-coated spring steel plate features alignment pins and a magnetic base for easy installation and removal. The PEI Flexible Build Plate offers excellent adhesion for a wide range of materials.

Printer compatibility

Due to the unique components of the UltiMaker S7 Z-stage, the PEI Flexible Build Plate is only compatible with the UltiMaker S7. The PEI Flexible Build Plate cannot be used with the UltiMaker S5.

Material compatibility

The PEI Flexible Build Plate is compatible with all current UltiMaker materials. The plate offers excellent adhesion and release without the need for additional adhesives; UltiMaker materials can be printed directly on a clean build plate.

The build plate also achieves excellent results and good adhesion with most third-party materials available on the UltiMaker marketplace. While direct printing on the plate is recommended, please note that for some special materials, additional adhesives may be required.

Metal Expansion Kit

The UltiMaker S7 was previously listed as incompatible with the Metal Expansion Kit. This was due to the need to immerse the plate in water to release printed parts, which could shorten the build plate's lifespan. Extensive testing has confirmed that this does not affect its lifespan.

The PEI Flexible Build Plate can be placed in water to release metal parts, but must be thoroughly dried afterwards.

Note:
1. Do not over-flex the build plate to release metal parts. Green parts are very fragile and may break.
2. The build plate cannot be placed in the release tray included with the Metal Expansion Kit, as this tray was originally designed for smaller glass build plates. A suitable alternative container must be used.
