Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What type of laser does the F1 Ultra have? Is it a true fiber laser?

The F1 Ultra is a dual laser machine, equipped with a 20W fiber laser and a 20W galvo blue diode laser. The F1 Ultra can engrave nearly all common materials in daily life. The diode laser performs best on wood, acrylic, leather, slate, glass, ceramics, etc., while the fiber laser can engrave clearly on all metals (stainless steel, aluminum, gold, silver, iron, platinum) and plastics. The F1 Ultra uses a true fiber laser. It uses an infrared laser as the laser source, and an optical fiber (diode-pumped fiber laser) as the gain medium. Both are critical components for generating laser light.
When the laser source illuminates the gain medium, a laser beam is generated, and the gain medium amplifies the intensity of the laser beam. Unlike the S1 and F1 models and other common infrared lasers on the market that use diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers as gain media, the F1 Ultra utilizes a fiber gain medium to maximize laser power. This allows for deeper engraving and cutting at the same power level.

How does the F1 Ultra perform on metal? Can it cut metal?

The F1 Ultra can deep engrave, emboss, and even cut metal. The F1 Ultra can cut 0.4mm thick brass, 0.3mm thick stainless steel, and 0.2mm thick aluminum sheets.

Is the F1 Ultra compatible with F1 accessories?

The F1 Ultra will be compatible with the RA2 Pro. For smoke purifiers, we recommend using the SafetyPro™ AP2 Air Purifier because it has a larger filter and longer purification lifespan.

What are the differences between F1 and F1 Ultra?

F1 Ultra
· High-efficiency batch engraving on almost all materials: The F1 Ultra is equipped with a 20W fiber laser and a 20W diode laser, featuring ultra-high speed of 10000mm/s, a 220*220mm engraving area, and Auto Streamline™ production function.
· Extensive jewelry making: The F1 Ultra is equipped with a 20W fiber laser for deep metal engraving, embossing, and thin metal cutting.
· Essential for craft shows: The F1 is a mini version of the F1 Ultra, compact and portable, making it easy to carry to craft shows. It's equipped with a 2W infrared laser and a 10W diode laser, with speeds up to 4000mm/s, allowing for quick on-site customized engraving on almost any item.
· DIY beginner's choice: The F1 is easy to operate, quick to learn, and relatively inexpensive.

What is the engraving resolution of the F1 Ultra?

The xTool F1 Ultra has ultra-high resolution, similar to the xTool F1. Its fiber laser has a compressed spot of 0.03*0.03mm, and its diode galvo laser has a compressed spot of 0.08*0.1mm.

Does the F1 Ultra come with a replaceable field lens?

The F1 Ultra's field lens does not need to be replaced for several reasons:
First, the F1 Ultra has the largest working area among desktop fiber laser engravers.
Second, the F1 Ultra uses micro-beam technology, which can restore image details even in the corners of the working area.
Third, the field lens inside the F1 Ultra is well protected. We designed an airflow channel (built-in fan) that blows all dust generated during engraving out of the machine.

What are the differences between F1 Ultra and P2?

F1 Ultra:
It is the king of desktop laser engravers, capable of engraving almost all materials with the fastest speed, highest resolution, and diverse engraving effects.
P2:
